Day 24
Friday July 4, 2014
Happy Independence Day
We started off today pretty late. Even with the curtains left open this room was pretty dark into the morning.

We hit the deli for a late breakfast/early lunch to start off with. Dee had oatmeal and a bagel. I had a turkey sandwich. All was good here as it's hard to mess up any of that.

Next up was some video poker action again. Dee played triple play and broke even after getting a dealt quad and a few bonus quads. I played halves and won $100. I hit a few quads including aces and deuces. I also hit quad fours on DDB on a Hail Mary attempt. I was up $300 at one point but then the bleed happened. I was getting flashbacks of the Aquarius!

We moved to triple play progressives for a bit. I hit a few quads and a straight flush. Finish up by $100. Dawn blew through $200 and cashed out a ticket or $2.50, which is our profit so far today!

We came back to the room to take a break for a while and did a little therapy with Dee. Then met up with the cousins for dinner.

Dinner tonight was at the buffet. This buffet isn't usually that good but it will fill the void and there's always something on it that's good. I used the gold card to get me and Dee in and points for the cousins. Tonight was crab legs and prime rib night and it's $20. Unless you're going to eat crab legs don't come to this buffet on Friday as it is not worth $20 if you're not eating the seafood.

When we finished dinner we piled into the car and headed for the Strip. Ugh, I'm cringing at this thought. Everyone wanted to see fireworks and Caesars Palace was going to have them at 9pm. I decided we might have a shot at seeing them from the parking area at Palace Station and figured most people wouldn't think of viewing them from there. When we got there the roof was blocked off but the other levels were available so we got a spot and watched from there. When we left Palace Station after the Caesars show was over, The Stratosphere was doing their fireworks so we got to see those from the car as we were at the red light at Sahara and the Strip. It also started pouring rain!

After the fireworks we came back to Sam's and hit the machines again. Dee played triple play again and I played 50¢ single line. This time Dee broke even after hitting aces, a straight flush and a few regular quads. I only hit one quad the whole session and got low paired and flush 4's to death. Seriously, I probably had 30 flush 4's dealt to me and connected on about 3 of them. Those were in the first 10 hands. I dropped $400 here.

Played dollars to run my $75 free play through. Only lost 4 hands but got nothing higher than 2 pair on the winners. Cashed out $85 and called it a night.

Total win/loss for the day $350
Total Comps for the day $402
