Day 27
Monday July 7, 2014
I was up early today because the cousins were heading back home. They had an 11:50am flight so I needed to get them to the airport by around 10-10:30 at the latest. However, with that said I checked their flight status and saw it was delayed, until 6pm!

I ran down to the deli to get some breakfast for me and Dee. She wanted a bagel and I got a breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg and cheese. All was good and filled us up.

Since the cousins had an “extra day” they wanted to go see Red Rock so came down and got the car keys to set out for their day. They also dropped off their luggage in our suite because they had to be out of their room by noon.

Dee wanted to go back to bed so I hit the casino after the cousins left. Today is also 7x points on video poker so it's a good day to pound in a little extra effort! I started with taking a shot with dollar video poker progressives at the bar. Things were working out well here and I was quickly dealt quad fives. Those quickly disappeared but then I hit quad deuces and hovered for a while. Soon after that I filled an inside straight flush for $250. I played for a while longer hovering but then the fast bleed started to happen and after losing 15 straight hands I cashed out with a $150 win. Not too shabby for an hour of play.

I came back to he room to check on Dee and she still wasn't feeling well so I went back down to the casino and played some more video poker. This time I chose the triple play quarters. Things were not good here and I dropped $300 without hitting a quad.

I met up with Dee in the room and she was ready to go. We hit the 50 cent machines this time. I was even when Dee busted out after only 15 minutes and felt like going back to the room again. I dropped her off and the cousins returned from their day at Red Rock. They were hungry and were going to go to lunch at McDonald's but instead I took them to the deli to get a real lunch on my gold card. I also got a bowl of soup while they had their sandwiches.

I left the deli and went to play. I didn't do well and dropped $200 in no time on the half dollar machines and went to play five play instead. This session was streaky but a few quads close together got me a $100 win and I cashed out and went back to the room.

The cousins flight was further delayed but only by 50 minutes so we headed out and loaded their stuff in the car. I dropped off the cousins at the airport and headed back to the property formerly know as the Hilton to make a few sports bets for the guys back home.

From here I headed out to Aliante to check in. The original plan was to stay here at Sam's until tomorrow, check out and spend the last 4 nights in one place. Instead we we're going to leave here now and spend 3 nights at the next hotel and finish the trip with the dreaded one nighter. Instead since Dee wasn't feeling well we decided to stay parked at Sam's but I would still run up there to check us in.

I didn't have an offer for this place but I contacted a host whose info I got from a friend. I explained to him what we typically play at Sam's and what we get. He came back offering a suite and no extras. I originally wanted to book the 8th, 9th, and 10th here on this deal. The only problem was they didn't have anything available on the 10th. I didn't want to do a 2 night stay so we decided we'd leave Sam's early and do 3 nights here. As it ends up with Dee not feeling well it ends up being a 2 night stay.

When I arrived checking in was fast and easy. This host set us up in an Ambassador Suite. We were given room 8022. When you walk in you enter the living room. There is a wet bar and dining area set up right past the entryway. There is a wall unit with a large flat screen TV and a sitting area with a couch and coffee table. This is the biggest TV I've ever seen. It's got to be 84 inches. There are also floor to ceiling windows with a view of the beltway.

The bedroom is large but similar to the standard rooms here at Aliante with a king bed, nightstands, sitting area, dresser, closet and flat screen TV. This room also has floor to ceiling windows with the view of the beltway.

The bathroom is larger than the standard rooms with a large shower, dual sink vanity and toilet area. This suite is actually handicap accessible even though I didn't book it to be.

When I got back Dee wanted some soup so for a late dinner I went to the deli. I got chicken fingers and fries and Dee got vegetable soup.

Dee didn't want to go out so I played more video poker. I played 5 play again and couldn't seem to hit much of anything. I dropped a few bills here and then decided for the first time this trip I'd play some blackjack. It was a double deck game and I played 2 hands. Nothing good or bad was happening for a while. It was pretty much win one, lose one which, is fine. We got a new dealer and things got decent for a while. I started getting splits and doubles and won most of those. I was up just over $500 and played a bit longer. Things started to turn and the dealer was pulling hands she had no business pulling so I colored up and took a $300 win with me.

Next up I played a variety of the newer penny slots. One game I played was Batman. This was a fun game with clips from the actual 60's TV show and a variety of bonus rounds. My only issue with this game Is the payouts are very low and most of the money is tied up in the bonus rounds. For example, 5 of a kind was only getting my initial bet back on a lot of spins. I played for a while machine hopping and lost $20 the whole time.

It was getting late now being after 1am so I came back to the room to get some sleep.

Total win/loss for the day - $150
Total Comps for the day $304
