Day 16

Today brings us to the end of the trip. We finished up packing out things and got ready to leave.

I stopped and got gas at the Rebel on the corner of Flamingo and Paradise and then it was onward to the airport. I parked in short term parking and then we checked the suitcase and checked in for the flight. I left Dee at the airport. I headed back to the rental car facility to return the car which took place without issue. The drive back to the airport took a little longer than normal because there is construction and the buses are taking a longer route all of the way down Warm Springs Rd so allow a little extra time until this project is completed.

I got back to the airport, met up with Dee and we went up to security. Everything was great here and she even got pre check here so didn't have to go through the full search she normally does.

Our flight was scheduled to leave at 11:30am and they started loading 11.. We were boarded first because of Dee's wheelchair and took the second row seats. This is flight 2253 scheduled to leave at 11:30am and is non stop to Albany scheduled to land at 7:15pm. The scheduled flight time was 4 hours and 45 minutes but the captain came on and said it was going to be 4:10.

The flight was smooth and I passed the time sleeping for almost 4 hours of the flight. I was shocked by what time it was when I finally woke up We landed at 7:15pm, almost 30 minutes early because as the captain came on and said, “that's how we roll here at Southwest”. After we got the luggage we caught a cab back to the hotel to fetch the car and then headed home. After an uneventful 2 hour drive we pulled into the driveway and my 50th trip to Las Vegas was officially over at 10pm.

Final Thoughts

• It was fun to fly for “free” on the casino's dime
• I'm glad I booked a rental car many months ago because rates spiked afterward
• I'm glad I got a discount code to upgrade and not have to switch cars too
• It was strange not staying at Main Street Station
• Dollar continues to rent cars with high mileage on them
• It was a nice change of pace to play some deuces this trip
• We played 425,000 hands of video poker this trip
• We hit 10 royal flushes this trip (4 @ 5¢, 5 @ 10¢, 1 @ 50¢)
• Dee hit 4 royals this trip (2 @ 5¢, 1 @ 10¢, 1 @ 50¢)
• I hit 6 royals this trip (2 @ 5¢, 4 @ 10¢)
• Too bad those royals were 25¢ and up and so many were dimes
• It was good to finally get to play at Binion's after a very lengthy absence
• The Fremont became the 51st different hotel I've stayed at in Las Vegas
• It was exciting that this was my 50th trip to Las Vegas since my first in 1995
• It was good to return to Hugo's Cellar at the Four Queens
• The meal at Andiamo at the D was excellent
• It was nice to stay at The Cromwell
• It's hard to believe that the Cromwell was once the Barbary Coast
• It was great to play blackjack with Ned the dealer for the first time in years
• The weather was as good as it gets with all sun and temps between 85-100
• This win brings my Las Vegas record to 29 – 20 – 1
• The next trip will be December 9 – 31 for another edition of the Christmas – Birthday Trip
