Day 6

Today we started off with a trip to the gym to work off some of those calories from the trip so far and for Dee's therapy.

For breakfast we went to Giada over at the Cromwell. Dee's wanted to go here for breakfast for a while and since we were nearby it was a good opportunity to go. I had the strawberry polenta waffle and Dee had the Breakfast Contadina. This is 2 eggs, toast, wilted spinach salad and crispy polenta cubes. My waffle was really good but pricey at $17 and Dee said her dish was excellent. It too was pricey at $17 as was her coffee at 6 fucking dollars. I charged the bill back to the room to use some of the credits we still had.

Next we went out to Red Rock casino. We hadn't been here in years and thought we'd so something a little different today. When we got there we hit the machines starting off with $1 9/6 jacks. We were both up and down on the meters but a few quads (including aces for both of us, ugh) kept us alive. At any one time we were up a few hundred but things slowed down. We didn't have quite enough action in to our goal but we were even so I decided we'd drop back to quarters at this time.

I immediately dropped $50 with few hits at all. I found it odd that playing dollars I was never down more than $30 the whole time and at quarters I was down $50 in under 10 minutes. I switched to DDB and soon after got dealt quad threes but couldn't pull the kicker. I switched back to jacks where things got good and I grew the meter slowly. Of course at this time Dee started getting her ass kicked. She switched to DDB and on her very last hand before busting out hit quad nines.

We were finally at our goal of 10k and we were actually up $100 so it was a good time to get out of there.

We left Red Rock and went over to Suncoast. Today they have 7x points on video poker. When we got there the first thing I did was swipe my card to activate the multiplier. They are also running a play and eat promo today where 600 points gets you a dinner buffet. This was going to be handy because we had dinner plans with friends Norm and Andrea.

We found some triple play machines with 8/5 bonus and began to pound away. Dee hit a quad right away and soon after hit quad aces. About 5 hands later she hit them again. We were plugging along nicely and hitting a good amount of quads to keep alive. Dee started getting beat up and actually lost all of her aces money and was even. I had actually gotten a small hot streak by then getting quad deuces 3 times and dealt quad tens along with a bunch of other quads and we were up $100. We took a short break and then played some more.

This time around my quads continued. I hit aces two more times and various other quads. You know you're running hot when you dump a junk hand and flop four queens. Dee made the switch to DDB again and nailed quad aces without the kicker. We reached our goal of 10k and still had some time so ran $20 through a penny game with no luck and no bonus rounds.

It was close to dinner time so we went over to the buffet and Norm was waiting for us. This is one of the better locals buffets out there and near the top of the list for the Boyd properties. It's amazing how different each buffet is at each one of their casinos. After a good visit with friends and eating too much we headed out and came back here to the Linq.

It wasn't really late but we were both tired and decided to just pack it in for the night with some TV and sleep.
