Day 9
Thursday March 3, 2016
When we got up today we got ready and finished packing our things up for today's flight. We've actually got a red eye flight home so have most of the day to do something. We decided to start with breakfast at Hash House A Go-Go. I got a smashed pork loin sandwich that was the size of the whole plate with fries. Dee got a breakfast quesadilla.

After breakfast we came back to the room to relax for the afternoon watching TV and just doing nothing.

Since I had to get the car back by 4:30 to avoid an additional day's charge we headed out. I didn't really want to spend all afternoon in the airport but I had passes to the United Club that I got from my credit card back when I did their promo of signing up and getting 2 free flights.

The first thing we did was gas up the car before heading to the rental car facility. Returning went well and there were no issues. Soon after we were on our way back to the airport.

Checking in here was quick and easy. We were a bit far ahead for checking luggage but an agent was able to check us in with our luggage earlier than the kiosk would.

Once we were checked in we went through security which as usual was nothing but stupidity. After all of these years people still don't get it.

Since we had plenty of time we went to the United Club. This is the first time I've ever been to one of these. It's sort of like a diamond lounge at the Caesars properties. They had cheese and crackers, fruit, soup and a few other snack items.

It was getting late so we left the lounge and went to the gate area to wait for our flight. When it was time to board we pre boarded so Dee could get to our seats without fighting through everyone.

This is flight 1583 scheduled to depart at 10:05pm and is non stop to Newark scheduled to arrive at 5:55am with a 4 hour and 50 minute flight time. After we were boarded the captain came on the PA and said the flight would only be 4:15.

We departed late/on time and soon the lights of the Las Vegas strip were in the distance. Since this was an overnight flight I spent most of it sleeping as did Dee. We arrived in Newark 30 minutes early and taxied to the gate.

We had to wait for Dee's chair to come up and then we were able to get off the plane. From there it was off to baggage claim. The luggage was already out when we got there.

Next up it was off to the monorail to the rental car area. I had a car reserved through Budget for a base rate of $67.50 for the one way rental of a full size car. They had me set up in a Ford Escape with 19,000 miles on it.

After giving the car a quick check and loading it up I noticed the gas tank was only ¼ full. I went back in and they noted it on my contract and told me to bring it back at that level. Now we were on our way. The 75 mile drive was a bit slow with it being rush hour in the NY/NJ area but there were no major delays.

We stopped and ran a few post vacation errands before we went home. It was about 10 am when we pulled into the driveway and my 52nd Las Vegas trip was now over.
