Day 8
Monday June 20, 2016
Happy Anniversary to Me & Dee
Today is our 6th Anniversary! We started it with another short trip to the pool.

We came back up here to get ready for the day and then we had the left overs from last night's dinner for brunch.

Once fed we were off to the casino for some video poker action. The first stop was to the host office to see our host. I found out that she did tell the players club to add more free play on my second day but it never happened. I told her to just add it when we return next week. She was also going to add some free play to Dee's account.

First stop was to the players club to get Dee some cards (I left them in the room) and to turn in the LVA coupon for $10 free play. The we activated Dee's free play for the day and we hit the Spin Poker again. Today is also double points so we'll make up yesterday's short play today. Dee was on fire hitting lots of “stuff” as she calls it that kept her alive and growing her meter. Then she hit a spin with 3 sets of aces. I hit a spin with 2 straight flushes and soon after Dee hit a spin with a royal flush on one line for our first one of the trip.

We cashed out with a $1250 win and took a short break up in the room for a light lunch of more left overs from last night's dinner.

We returned to the machines and more video poker action. We chose Spin Poker again and this time Dee was getting her ass kicked. I was doing fair but nothing great. She was just about to bust out and switched to the dark side (Double – Double) and on the second spin pops aces w/ kicker. She switched back over to bonus and continued to plug away until she hit her second royal of the day! Unfortunately we had gotten our asses kicked this time around and we only finished up with a $100 win after those nice hits.

We took another break and walked through some of the grounds here at Rampart and just chilled for a while.

For dinner we had a reservation at Spiedini. We were seated right away. I had the beef carpaccio appetizer and Dee had the prosciutto wrapped shrimp. My beef was good although I've had better and Dee said her shrimp was excellent. For our main course I had chicken parmigiana. Mainly so I could compare it to what I had at Bacio last week. I can say hands down Bacio wins by a mile. I found it to be rather bland here compared to Bacio. Dee had linguine and clams and said it was very good. For dessert we split a lemon cello cake. This was spongecake with lemon cello flavoring added. It was light and delicious. The service was good and attentive tonight and overall the food was good, not great.

After dinner we hit the machines for more video poker action. This time we tried some 5 play. I was immediately getting my ass kicked and lost $200 in very short order. Dee was hovering though and hit a few quads. I bought in again and got dealt 4 to a royal and on the draw landed a flush and a pair of jacks as I blurted out the eff word. We continued to plug along and now Dee was getting beat on. I was hovering and then got dealt 4 to a royal again which netter nothing on the first three lines but a royal on line 4! This was a record for us being our 3rd royal of the day. We played a bit more and wrapped up the session with a nice $700 win.

We moved to another bank of machines and played spin poker. The bank we were usually playing was full so we tried another one. Dee said, “no mistakes”. While I don't believe in that sort of crap, I'm not against it either. We began to pound away with nothing major happening. In fact Dee was getting pounded again while I was hovering She switched to the dark side again and wouldn't you know it, hits a single set of aces to get back to even. Of course when she did that I started getting my ass kicked again. It seems that the two of us can never win at the same time. Seems when one of us is doing well the other gets killed. I went from being up $100 to being down almost 2. I made the switch to the darker side (triple double bonus). I had a spin that dealt me 3 aces. I was hoping to land just one set which didn't happen. Instead I hit 5 sets of aces for the $1000 hit. I even had a kicker on the screen but it wasn't in the right position. I switched back to bonus and continued to do well. Dee was getting some good play in too. She didn't hit much of anything else but I scored another dealt quad for 1125 coins. I continued to grow my meter and finally cashed out. Between us we cleared another $1400 in wins.

We were done with our play for the day and ran Dee's $260 free play through single line. I popped a 20 into the machine next to her just to keep busy. She was hovering +/- $20 the whole time when she hit quad 4's. She still had about $40 left when out of the blue she hits her third royal of the day on a 2 card hold. This is the very first time either of us has hit 3 royals in a day (excluding 50/100 play games) and the first time either of us ever hit a royal on free play. She ended up turning her $260 free play into $1310. Oh yeah, I lost my $20 with little play.

Even though we had enough action in for the day we took one more shot at Spin Poker. The thought was it was still 2x points, we were still on fire and everything we play tonight is that much less we have to play tomorrow. By the time I got my money loaded into my machine Dee had already dropped $100 of her $200 buy in. this was not what I had hoped for. While I'm not expecting any more royals at this point I wasn't expecting her to blow up so fast. She hovered a bit and switched to the dark side with no luck. She busted out after only $700 in action. I was doing well though hitting some bonus quads and regular quads when I was dealt yet another quad (eights) and got back everything Dee lost. By the time we re done we were actually up 20 bucks!

We took that $20 and ran it through a penny slot for some fun and to wind down. We got quite a bit of play out of it but as usually happens on slots, we lost it.

We came to the room after a long (and profitable) day of gaming action as we wrapped up another day.
