Day 13
Saturday June 25, 2016
Once again we started with some pool time.

For breakfast we went to the VIP buffet that's held for green and red card holders. It's nothing special. It's just held in the regular buffet in a section that's closed off from the rest of the seating and has a few additional food items. We also get cloth napkins and tablecloths. Other than that it's the same as the rest of the buffet. Mediocre at best!

After breakfast we hit the machines and pounded away for a while. We chose single line for halves. It was an ok session. A few ups and downs. I hit a quad on my hail Mary attempt and Dee got dealt a quad. She also hit one more while I hit none. I was also getting blasted with flush 4 again. I did manage to hit a straight flush though to get back into it. By the time we had our action in for the day which wasn't much we were dead even.

We came back to the room after this and grabbed a few things and headed to Harrah's for an overnight. We wouldn't be checking out of the Aquarius but just taking a few things down there. The reason was that Dee had an appointment to get her hair done at the salon there. We also had booked the room on mail offer she got for free nights, $45 food and $50 free play. Oddly her offers are better than mine which is why we booked her offer instead of mine.

We checked in at the diamond/7* area and were assigned room 32024. I had originally booked a Central Tower Room with a River view and a king bed. This room was suite in the north tower. I hate this tower because it's 12 miles from the casino and there are routinely 20 minute waits for the elevator. For some dumb reason I didn't protest and we went to the room. It has the same design as most suites here but this one is a bit smaller. It's got a living room when you walk in with a wet bar area, couch, coffee table, end tables, dining table and a flat screen TV on the wall.

The bed room has a dresser with flat screen TV and a king bed with 2 nightstands. The bathroom has dual sink vanities, a whirlpool tub, toilet room and shower.

Both the living room and bedroom have a riverfront view and you can see the beach to one side and all of the way to the Riverside from the other.

Today we'd be playing on Dee's card. The plan is to put 2500 points on so she gets the 5000 point bonus but if we're getting killed would are going to pull the plug on that plan. She's also registered for the promo of a 50% bonus on all points in the 2nd quarter.

We played some 5 play and some short pay deuces with moderate luck. Dee got dealt a quint early on. Soon after I hit deuces. Then she hit deuces. I couldn't be outdone and one a 1 deuce hold scored the other 3 on line four. Unfortunately we didn't hit much of anything between these deuces and we only walked with a $100 profit.

I took Dee down to her salon appointment. They told me it was going to be about 2 hours for her to finish. I came back up to the casino. I decided this would be a good opportunity to roll the bones. I hit the craps table but planned to low play, not play like I used to back in my Hard Rock days. It was a decent table. No monster rolls but I made a few bucks on each roll and was up $200 rather quickly. It got rough after that and a number of shooters, including myself, were one and done. Things here continued to be choppy. I was getting ready to quit after being in the whole when it turned around. It got good again and I wished I had been betting like I did in the old Hard Rock days! I ended up with a $325 win and it was 4pm and time to go get Dee. I quit at just the right time because while a bunch of people colored up 3 shooters went out on their first roll.

I went back down to the salon to get Dee and we hit the machines again. This time it was streaky again but a lack of dealt winners was a killer. I managed to pull my 3rd set of deuces for the day and we squeaked out a small $50 win for the session.

We were getting hungry now. We decided to go to Guy Fireri's El Borro Borracho. When we got there they had a line out the door all of the way past the Beach Cafe. There was no way in hell I was waiting in a line like that to eat. Then I realized, I'm 7* bitches! I whipped out my 7* card, went to the front of the line and flashed it and was seated immediately! Dee was a little embarrassed by this but I explained we lost a boatload of money last year getting this card and we EARNED that right. I think she was afraid people though would think it was her chair that got us to the front of the line.

Dee had the jalapeno poppers as her entree and I had the Old Skool amerikano Tacos that came with rice and beans. For dessert we ordered the Churros and they were huge. You get 4 of them and they are about a foot long each and an inch in diameter. They were really good and came with a chocolate rum dipping sauce and a caramel dipping sauce. The bill came to $44 and change so it was perfect use of the $45 food credit that came with the room.

After dinner I went to the car to get our things and moved the car to the valet area. We were actually undecided if we were going to sleep up here tonight or just go back to the Aquarius. After seeing the absurd lines at the valet I decided we'd actually stay. When I finally got back in I told Dee and we went to go to the room to throw our things up there. That's when we saw the line to the elevators and I said no effing way.

We went to the diamond/7* check in and asked to be moved. I even told them I'd take a regular room instead of a suite and apologized for not protesting the north tower earlier. They were happy to move us and actually upgraded us to a better suite thanks to a cancellation.

We are now in room 21664 in the Central Tower. This is a full sized suite. The outside door is even upscale and it's titled the Conquistador Suite. When enter there is a small entry way. To the right is a powder room with sink and toilet. Farther through there is a table on the right hand side. The living room features a sectional sofa, flat screen TV, stereo, coffee table and had African decorations all over. The dining room has a large glass table with seating for 6. It also has a kitchen area with a breakfast bar, fridge, coffee maker, microwave and enough glasses and coffee mugs to supply the entire casino.

The bedroom has a king bed and instead of nightstands has 2 end tables. There is also a TV cabinet with flat screen TV and a work desk. The bathroom is giant with 2 separate vanity areas with a 13 inch TV between them. There is a giant whirlpool tub to the right. At the end of the bathroom to the left is the toilet room with bidet and toilet. To the right there is a giant walk in shower with 2 separate shower heads. It actually looks like a brick over that you could make pizza in.

It has a frontal view of the river and like the other room we had you could see from the beach at Harrah's all of the way to the Riverside. The only difference is that we had 4 giant windows instead of 2 at the other suite.

While we were checking out the room there was a knock on the door. It was the nightly cookie delivery! Tonight's selection was brownies. A few minutes later there was another knock and it was a guy with a Harrah's bag full of snacks. It had 2 apples, 2 oranges, pretzels, a chocolate bar, trail mix, Pepperidge Farm Milano Cookies and a couple of bottles of water. All of this stuff is available at the Beach Cafe and this bag would retail for about $15.

Our next stop was Total Rewards. Dee had to activate her free play that came with the room offer. They gave her a voucher to take to the cage to get the reel rewards. Earlier I had swiped her card at the kiosk and activated $130 in free play that she had gotten on another offer. I was happy to be able to double dip these!

We hit the casino again and for a change of pace played bonus deuces on the 50 plays. Right away Dee hit quad deuces with a ace for 2000 coins. I thought that was a sign we'd be having a good session. A few minutes later I got dealt 3 deuces and pulled 4 quad ducks on the draw. I hit deuces 3 more times in my session while Dee hit them a few times as well. Other than deuces she just got her ass handed to her. She lost everything I won and we got out with a small $50 win.

We took a short break and then hit the bonus deuces again. This was a total disaster with the only good hand being hitting quad deuces on one line when I dumped a junk hand. We bled this time around and bled fast to the tune of 8 bills on only 8k in action. Damn I hate 10% losses.

We almost had enough play in for the day so we decided to go to the 5 play machines again. Dee started out getting her ass kicked and then I followed. Then without any major hands not only was she even, she was up. The problem was I was getting my ass kicked. Still seems we can't both win at the same time. I started coming back with some dirty royals and then for the second time today holding only 1 deuce hit the quad to get back into the game. By the time we hit our play goal we were up $250 for the session and had the full 2500 points on her card.

Now it was time to run Dee's free play through the machines. We decided since we weren't getting killed today that she would run it through dollars. She turned the $180 into $135 with few big hits. This $135 was important though because it actually made us winners for the day.

Before we came back to the room we went to the arcade and played a few games for some fun. This place is a money pit though so we didn't stay long. The Pinball Hall of Fame it's not!
