Day 24
Wednesday July 6, 2016
We got up early today because the cousins are heading home. The cousins are flying out around noon so we got everyone together and got them to the airport by 10:00 am.

We dropped them off and said our good byes and then ran some errands including a stop at the bank. This was a fun stop, not a walk of shame like these bank stops usually are.

Next was gas for the car and then a stop at the Westgate to get some sports bets for the guys at work.

Next we went to lunch at Fat Choy at the Eureka. The only reason we even would consider going here is because it was featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. We split an order of Pork Belly Bao that was featured on the show. Dee had a cheeseburger and I had a short rib grilled cheese that was also featured on the show. I thought the food was good but not anything that would have me going back to the place over and over. I was actually surprised that the Eureka was not as dumpy as I thought it was going to be. Certainly not a place that I'm going to hang out at but I've been to sleazier places.

After lunch we came back downtown and went to Main Street Station. Even though we were still guests of of the D we were actually going to be moving here today for the next 4 nights.

I tried to check in and the room was ready. I booked this on my July mail offer of $35 and 4 nights. I'm also getting a silver card good for complimentary meals at the non gourmet places in all of the downtown Boyd properties.

My host blocked room 1724 and we were given this room. When we arrived we were able to check in and the room was ready. We grabbed our stuff from the car and went up. This is a handicap accessible room. These rooms are the same as the standard rooms here at Main Street Station with a king bed, nightstands, table with chairs, dresser, 32 inch flat screen TV, closet, fridge and a work desk. The bathroom is laid out similar to the regular rooms as well except it's all one room instead of being split into two. It also has safety bars around the toilet and in the tub.

Next I walked over to the D to grab our stuff. It was a bit inconvenient but it was better than lugging all of our shit to the airport and all over town this morning.

We hit the casino and I stopped by the players club to get my free play activated and to make sure I was getting my 5x points for VP. I swiped at the kiosk and the accepted the 5x points on VP today and we were off to the machines.

We started off the day with some 10 play. Things were rough here for Dee to start. Despite hitting aces twice she needed to reload. I was doing well hitting lots of quads. A big chunk of those came when I got dealt quad kings. From there I never looked back. Dee started to come alive too. She hit a bunch of quads and a straight flush. I continued to hit quads including another dealt quad, this time it was aces for a $1000 score. Other than a few pockets of getting 5-6 non paying hands and low paired it was a pretty exciting session. I also had a hand that landed 2 straight flushes. I cashed out up $1400 and Dee cashed out with a small $100 loss. We hit 46 scratch cards worth $96. They were all for $2 except for a $5 card that Dee got and a $3 card that I got.

For dinner we went to the Market Street Cafe over at the California. Dee got the salad bar and I got the prime rib special. The prime rib was excellent tonight especially for a coffee shop cut.

After we were done eating we came back over to Main Street Station and hit the machines again. This time around we played 10 play again. There was no way this session was going to be as good as the earlier one and it wasn't. It wasn't bad though. We both hit aces twice and I had a hand with 3 quads on it. It wasn't enough in the end and we lost $400 this time. We also gathered up 26 more scratch cards worth $49. Three of those were for 3 bucks.

We moved to a different bank of machines and switched to five play to try and level off the swings a bit. It didn't really work that well as I was down a bill in about 2 minutes. Dee hit a few quads right off the bat. We did both hit aces and both times it was on a one card hold. A few minutes later Dee chirped and I look over thinking she hit aces again and see a royal flush on line 4, her 5th of the trip and our 7th combined. We cashed out of the session with a $900 win between us and 8 more $2 scratch cards.

We went back to the 10 plays again and took one more shot. I hit a quad on my first hand but that was about all. Dee hit a couple of quads. We cashed out this time even with 3 more $2 scratch cards.

We had our fill of play tonight so we wrapped up with a few penny games with no hits whatsoever.
