Day 27
Saturday July 9, 2016
When we got up and ready for the day we had plans with Mike, Camela, and Las Vegas Norm over at Magnolia's over at the Four Queens. Dee had the Simply Jazz (2 eggs, toast and hash browns) and I had Canal Street (French Toast, 2 eggs, and bacon). We all had a good time visiting and it was good to see Norm again. Mike paid the bill using his comps. Thanks Mike.

When we left Magnolia's Norm left and the 4 of us went shopping. I needed to pick up some T shirts by request of some co workers. I don't usually buy souvenirs but since they were requested I wanted to fill those requests.

Once I had what we needed Mike and Camela went back to the Four Queens to play and we went to the Golden Nugget to Sign Dee up for a new card. Once she was signed up we hit a $1 progressive video poker bank that had 8/6 jacks on it. The royal was $4560 and we took a shot. The plan was to get on the mail train and get some low end comps like I have been getting. Nothing of interest happened during the session except for me getting dealt quad kings. Other than the it was the typical grind and we slowly lost. One thing that didn't help was me only filling 1 out of 14 flush 4 attempts. We lost $300 on 3k action.

For hitting 20 points Dee got to spin a fake wheel right on the machine. The prizes are free play from $3 to $1000. Guess which one she got. Seriously, I think Tillman Fertitta can do a little better than $3 for a new sign up. It's not even enough to play 1 hand.

Next up we found a penny slot with a dime minimum bet to run Dee's $3 through. We weren't expecting to turn it into anything but did get to play for about 10 minutes. No major hits and we even cashed out with a penny!

The other thing Dee got for signing up was a $10 match play. We played it on black at roulette and up popped black for a $20 win.

We made dinner plans with Yahtzee Mike and Camela afterwards and came back to Main Street Station to take a break. On the way through Binion's I used one of those food credits we won last night to buy a couple of sandwiches. We gave them to a few hungry guys one the street that we saw every day while we were here. While I will never give these guys money I don't feel people should be hungry. Hopefully this got them through the rest of the day.

Back at Main Street Station we came to the room and took a break until dinner.

Dinner tonight was at Main Street Station's buffet. I used the silver card to cover 2 and points to cover the other 2. This is still a good buffet but it's seriously not the quality that it used to be. It's a shame that Boyd continues to make cuts and service and quality suffer because of it.

After dinner we all went back over to the Four Queens. The girls played some penny games and me and Mike hit the craps table. We haven't played craps together in a long time so this was fun. We got to the table and they already had a shooter and we got in after he made his point. He continued to roll well and we made some money off of him. The next shooter was just as good and we made money off of her. The next few shooters were so-so and that included the 2 of us. It started getting choppy and we decided we'd quit and take the cash were were still up from the good shooters.

The girls came back and they lost with Dee losing $60. My craps win was about $150 though so we netted about $100 that helped offset the earlier loss at Golden Nugget.

Mike and Camela were leaving in the morning so we said our good byes to them and came up here to the room at Main Street Station and started packing up our things for the move tomorrow.

We came back over to Main Street Station and then I went over to the California and played some blackjack. It was up and down and I couldn't get ahead but wasn't really losing either. For the crappy cards I was getting and the dealer not having to draw not much was happening. We had a few decks that got good and I got ahead a little. Then some guy sits down and starts making bone head moves. Like hitting a 10 twice and busting it against a dealer 4, standing on 13 against a dealer 10 and then hitting another stiff against a dealer bust card taking the card I needed on my double. I know over time bone head plays balance out and can help as much as they hurt but this guy killed me so I left the table with a $6 profit.

One thing I don't do often is play craps at the Cal. Mainly because of the lame double odds they offer. But I got onto a game tonight hoping to witness a Golden Arm shooter. It didn't happen and the table was choppy. We had a newbie play that didn't know how to play and was taking advice from a dark side player that was full of useless wisdom (like your money lasts longer on the don't – bullshit, it depends on how the table is running). She was actually doing ok. When it was her turn to shoot we told her to but the pass line. Virgin shooters usually do well. She did not popping a 7 on her first roll. I was almost busted out of $300 but then a guy rolled for 30 minutes and got most of it back. I played a bit longer so I could shoot and I blew it. After about 3 hours at the table I was down but just $150. Not a great result but for 3+ hours of fun it's not bad.

I got back to the room at about 1:30am. I always seem to have a late night before a moving day.
