Day 8
Friday December 8, 2016
We started off with in room breakfast of cookies to hold us over. These cookies actually came from Harrah's. Each night they deliver cookies to the room.

After breakfast it was over to Bullhead City to make the walk of shame to the bank. This wasn't one of those fun trips like we were having in the summer. This was the walk of shame to reload due to yesterday's stupidity.

For lunch Dee was craving Arby's and since we were right near one we went there for a couple of Beef and Cheddar sandwiches. Filled up with crap we came back to Laughlin.

Now with the pocket reloaded and back at the Aquarius it was now time to start hitting the VP machines. We decided to play five play today. Dee was getting her ass kicked from the beginning but I was hovering for a change. The quads were hitting frequently enough to stay right around even. Three different times I held trips and hit not one but two quads. I also hit quad aces while Dee continued to bleed. One key hand was being dealt 4 to a royal and landing it on line 4 for the first real royal of the trip.

We continued to pound away when I saw a guy come to the bank of machines that looked familiar. It was MM from San Diego. I hadn't seen him in years so we got caught up while playing for a while. Dee busted out again and I still had money from my original buy in but after the dust cleared we were actually only up $300 and that's after a royal and a set of aces. Better than nothing but not good considering a royal.

For dinner we went to the newly revamped Cove. They still have the same menu but have also added for a limited time some dished off of the Vineyard menus. I had chicken Parmesan and Dee had Shrimp pomodoro over pasta. We both like it and I used my Cove/Duet food vouchers I got for being a red card holder here to cover the bill.

After dinner it was back to the machines again. We tried our luck at Spin Poker. Dee was up and down and I was hovering +/- $50 most of the time. There was a lack of quads with me only hitting 2 of them and Dee not hitting any. I was getting enough decent hands to stay alive but then things got bad. I blew through 2 bills in about 10 minutes and walked away a loser with Dee losing her $200 as well. I wasn't amused that we were down $100 on the day after hitting a royal.

Next up we took a shot at Ultimate X (short pay) for nickels just for some fun. It wasn't very fun with exception of a few hands. We just couldn't get enough dealt hands to keep alive and when we had the board covered with multipliers we'd strike out on the next hand. Between us we dropped another $400.

We took another shot with triple/five play with me busting out yet another $200 in about 15 minutes with Dee losing and $100. By now the eff bombs were flying as we were now down 8 bills AFTER hitting a royal earlier in the day which is an $1800 swing.

To finish up the night we ran my free play through 50¢ jacks. I was able to turn the $410 in free play into $365 cash with no real hands of interest other than one full house.

I had a few tickets with small, odd amounts on them and fed them into a penny game for some fun. The $19 in tickets got me a whopping $30 in action. That brought on a few more eff bombs, Dee was mad at me and that did it for the night. We came up to the room to close out another day.
