Day 9

Normally we'd start our Saturday off with the VIP buffet that comes with being a red card holder but it's closed for “renovations” and “deep cleaning”. It's funny that all of the years we've seen that I've never seen a renovation or cleaning activity being done during this time. I don't know why they don't just tell the truth and say “It's slow so we're closed”.

So for breakfast we did the same thing as yesterday and had in room coffee with the rest of the cookies we had.

Once we were ready for the day were were off to the casino. We started off with STP. It wasn't a good start with both of us blowing 2 bills in no time. We bought in again and things leveled off a bit. Dee was hitting a lot of quads but I wasn't hitting any. I was also whiffing on most of my multiplier. The most annoying was the one 10x I got then had to dump all 5 cards which resulted in no pay off. Dee continued hitting quads and also hit a straight flush. Unfortunately she wasn't hitting much of anything else. I took a hail Mary on double – double and popped my first (and what would be my only) quad of the session. A few dent multiplier hits and dealt flushes kept me going. Dee eventually quit down $400 and I quit with a $50 loss for another $450 in losses to start the day.

We took a lunch break and went to Cafe Aquarius. Dee had a 3 alarm burger and I had the open turkey. Dee said her burger was good. My food sucked and so did the service. First the server told me the soup was chicken noodle or cream of chicken and rice. Fifteen minutes later she returns to tell me it was cheddar broccoli and asks if I want that or the chicken noodle. I took the chicken noodle. Ten minutes later she brings out all of the meals and the soup. Nothing pisses me off more than when the appetizer comes out at the same time as the meal. So by the time I eat the soup, the meal is cold. Add to this that the temperature in the cafe was set to about 50 degrees and it was already cold in there. After a sub par meal we went back to the casino.

I took a twenty and we started playing a variety of penny games. I played the stupid Buffalo that everyone seems to love and win on (except me). I actually hit a bonus round of 8 free spins. During the free spins I hit the bonus 3 more times for a total of 23 free spins. During these spins I got paid on 4 of them. So in 23 free bonus spins my pay off was $6 and change. You can stick your Buffalo machines right up your ass. We bounced around to various machines and only hit a bonus on one other game before busting out the $20.

Next up we played Spin Poker Super Times Pay for Dimes and Deuces Wild. Dee started off like a ball of fire with a bunch of multipliers and got dealt a wild royal. From there it was down the shitter for her though. I was doing pretty good with a bunch of dealt quads and a drawn wild royal with a 5x. I was up over $250 at my high point but then started to lose. Multipliers weren't coming up as often and when they did I had junk hands. Dee busted out and I quit with a $100 win for yet another loss in the books.

We went back to the quarter five play STP machines and proceeded to get the shit beat out of us. Dee hit a bunch of quads and got 2 straight flushes. I was getting beat up too with very few multipliers. I held AK off suit and nailed four aces on one line (no multiplier) to get back into it but then went in the area of 20 straight hands without a dealt winner or a profit and the aces money was gone. In total I did over $1700 in action and only had 6 multipliers the whole time. Two were in the first 3 hands and 3 of the six were total busts. When we quit due to me getting really pissed off we were only down about $50. Not bad considering how shitty it was but another $50 out the window.

We took a break up in the room for a while and I watched TV while Dee read her book.

After the break Dee wasn't feeling well and I went out. I machine hopped some penny games for fun. I hit a few bonus rounds but noting major. No wins or losses either so that was a good thing.

Next up was dinner. I went to the Cove again and got the steak salad and Risotto balls. The food was really good but the Risotto balls were just two to the order and only the size of a golf ball. This would be fine but they were eight fucking dollars.

I played a little more STP video poker again with very few multipliers. I've never seen so few multipliers playing this game. Usually I see one every 20-30 hands on average. Today it's been more like 100-200 hands. No hits here and the few multipliers I got were useless.

Since we were pretty much done playing on my card for the trip at this point I decided to go to the players club and cash in my points for free play. I had lots of points from last time as well and cashed in for $500 in free play. This still left some points on my card in case we wanted to go eat at Arizona Charlie's in Las Vegas or just to save up for free play next time.

I ran the $500 in free play through quarter 9/6 jacks and turned it into $450 cash. Really poor results with another 10% loss rate. This was a nice little boost to the pocket but we are so far down already I'm not sure if it's going to help.

I was done playing for the day so went to Duet to grab some pastry for the morning and a snack for tonight and just came up to the room to wind down before going to bed.
