Day 10
Sunday December 18, 2016
We were up early this morning and started off with in room breakfast of pastry and coffee/tea. Dee watched TV and I surfed the net a bit and got caught up on this report and e-mails.

Now it was time to hit the machines. Today we'd be playing on Dee's card. We played an assortment of 3/5/10 play video poker. Dee was hovering nicely hitting way more quads than normal. I was bleeding due to a lack of dealt winners. When I did get dealt a winner I couldn't improve it. I busted out and bought in again but things didn't change. Dee continued to do well hitting quads while I bled. We were getting hungry for lunch and I was dead so took a Hail Mary on double – double 10 play hoping for a quad or two. Nothing was happening until I held a simple pair of aces and filled them in with a kicker on line 10 for the 2000 coin hand. We went from being down for the session to being up just like that.

For lunch we went to Duet and got a couple of sandwiches. Dee had a ham and cheese wrap and I had a turkey gobbler that was turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. It was really good.

After lunch we took a drive over to the Golden Nugget. Dee likes to play roulette here so we both bought in for $100. She really low rolls here just betting the $3 minimum. I play a little heavier. She was doing ok with outside bets but between us we only hit one number straight up. I dropped my $100 and she dropped $30.

They were running a promo on machines today where for $500 in action you got to play a pick a present game right on the screen. The video poker here is pretty dismal but I found a bank of deuces wild the had a 5 way progressive from the royal flush down to the straight flush. I'm not sure of the return at reset but I'm guessing it's really low. The progressives were fairly high. Within the first few hands I took down the straight flush for $28. I didn't realize it was high until it reset it $15. Soon after Dee took down the dirty royal which was only a few dollars over reset. Then the worst hand even in deuces wild gets dealt to me. Four effing aces and I couldn't even pull the deuce for a quint. Dee hit another wild royal and then I finally took down the quint progressive that was actually higher than the wild royal. I continued to plug along and a few hands later I was dealt 3 deuces and pulled the 4th for a $260 hit.

Dee hit her $500 coin and and played the game winning a whopping $4 in free play. A few minutes later I played as well and also won $4. We cashed out of the deuces machines and walked away with a $300 win.

We went to some penny games to run the $4 prizes through. Dee also had $1 cash back available which she also ran through. She turned her $5 into $1.82 and I turned my $4 into $3.85.

We left the Golden Nugget and since we were out I drove over to Bullhead City to fill the gas tank before tomorrow's drive. Gas on the other side of the river was 80¢ a gallon cheaper than the crooks here on Casino Drive charge. On the way back over we stopped into the outlet mall and picked up a few items at Burke's. Nothing with great prices like we used to get but a few items that were reasonable.

We returned to the Aquarius and hit the machines again. Nothing really special happened other than me getting beat up a bit while Dee carried the team with some quads and dealt winners. When we decided to take a dinner break we were only down $50 with me down over $100 and Dee winning.

For dinner we decided to go to Cafe Aquarius. Dee had spaghetti and meatballs and I had a bone in pork chop. Dee loves her pasta and said it was good. My pork chop was surprisingly good. In fact it was better than I've had a some higher end places. I would definitely order it again.

We went over to Duet to get some pastry for the morning and dessert for tonight. We used Dee's food and drink vouchers for being green card and charged the rest to the room.

It was back to the machines after dessert and we played more 3/5/10 play. Dee once again was doing ok to start but the great sessions from earlier finally caught up to her. She needed to re buy but leveled off after that. I was still swinging up and down this time not only from a lack of dealt winners but lack of quads. I took a hail Mary on 10 play double – double and on the first hand hit a bonus quad and switched back to bonus. That's when I got dealt 4 to a royal and got absolutely nothing. That was too bad as I was hoping to repeat my previous royal. I continued to pound away watching Dee hover. Then I got dealt 4 to a royal again but this time I caught a flush on line 5. Oh well. 25 coins is better than none. Nothing much was happening good or bad for a while and we just hovered. Dee was dealt 3 aces on 10 play and whiffed on all 10 finishing with nothing but trips from top to bottom. Not a quad or even a full house. Meanwhile over on my machine I held 3 royal cards and landed the whole family on line 3! We played a bit longer but cashed out before things could go bad and locked up the winnings for the day.

We were done playing so Dee ran her free play through quarter jacks turning the $135 into $150 cash. That wrapped up another day and we came up to the room to start getting ready for tomorrow's move back up to Las Vegas.
