Day 14
Thursday December 22, 2016
We went downtown to Binion's today to start the day. We both have mail offers for $300 in free play so all of our action would be down here today. We started off on my card and played $1 8/5 bonus poker. Things were rough for Dee but I was hovering close to even. We both hit quads early on to keep alive. Then I hit a bonus quad for $200 and proceeded to lose 10 straight hands after that, hit a pair of jacks and then lost 20 of the next 22 wiping out the bonus quad and then some. From there we just bled to death. By the time we had my action in we were down over $1000 and that was after being up almost $400 between us. Once I had my action in I went over to the kiosk and did my 3 mother lode swipes. I got a 2 for 1 entree in the cafe on spin one, $10 off the cafe or BBQ and the second spin and a free gift on the last spin.

We switched to Dee's card and things were a little better here. Dee hit quad 10's three times and a bonus quad but then still started getting beat. I also hit a bonus quad, a regular quad and then aces but between all of those quads was still down $100. Dee was bleeding again too. We finally got to our play goal and dropped almost another $500 between us.

We went over and did her mother lode spins and she got the exact same things I got except her $10 food was cafe or deli instead of BBQ. This is easily the worst we've ever done on these spins before.

For lunch we went to the deli to use Dee's voucher. We both got cheese burgers and a coke. I paid the bill with her voucher and the balance with points.

We went back to the machines and ran our $300 though quarter progressive 8/5 bonus. We both hit quads and I turned my $300 into $345 and Dee turned hers into $285.

We were now done playing and once again one of my best plays in town kicked my ass. We went to the players club to cash in for our free gift which was a blanket today that has a card on the front of it describing it as a faux fur blanked with a suggested retail value of $99.99. Give me a friggen break. We also cashed in our points from the last year or so and both got $200 back. Between this 4 bills, the free play and our losses we only got beat by $250 today.

We left downtown and came back to the Cromwell to take it easy for the rest of the afternoon. It's actually an odd rainy day out her. Now just sprinkling or short term down pour but a steady rain from the middle of the night and it's now 3:30pm and it's still raining.

It was about dinner time so we went to the Linq to Guy Fieri's VEGAS to meet up with our friend Gary. Gary's daughter Taylor also joined us. It was good to see her as I haven't seen her since she was a little kid. Dee had a Veggie Burger and I had the Motley Cue sandwich. The food is always good here and the prices are really fair especially for a strip location. For dessert me and Dee split the Triple – Double Mint Ice Cream. Even with the 2 of us eating it we couldn't finish it.

After dinner we said our goodbye's to Gary and Taylor. Then we came back to the Cromwell and Dee came to the room and I ran downstairs for one last session of craps. The last few days of play were tough even though I won each day. The reason was because I initially lost and had to claw my way back. This table was the opposite. I was ahead right from the beginning and that makes a big difference. Most shooters did a good job and I made money on each one. I had a great roll hitting 5 different points and winning a fire bet for another player at 250 for 1. I even set the 6th point but failed to hit it before I went out. That would have paid the guy 1000 for 1.

The table got choppy at times but for the most part continued to be decent. Lots of numbers were thrown even if a point wasn't made. I started my “keep” piles and “play” piles to assure a win while still playing. I almost ran out of play money a few times but good shooters saved me and I continued to play. By the time the play pile disappeared I colored up with a $2325 win.

I got back to the room just after midnight and watched some TV before I went to bed.
