Day 15
December 23, 2016
When we got up we got ready for the day and packed up our things. We headed out of the Cromwell with a quick stop to check out because the room charges that shouldn't have been there were. After a discussion with a host and some phone calls it all was worked out. Between the food and the shows and the hotel it was a pretty good stay. We sort of enjoyed playing “tourist” staying, eating and playing center strip for a few days. What made it most enjoyable was how slow it was during the slowest days of the year.

On the way out we went to Einstein Bros Bagels and got a quick bite to go.

From Einstein it was off to Summerlin and the Rampart. This is the final move of the trip but we'll actually be staying here for 7 nights!

When we arrived I went to see if our room was ready and it was. This reservation was originally booked on both of our offers. Mine is for 3 nights, $525 free play and $20 food with a special $60 food bonus for my birthday month. Dee's offer was for 3 nights $300 free play (which make no sense since our play is identical) and $30 in food. Our host combined the offers and added the additional night. She also bumped us up to a full one bedroom suite. There has also been discussion about additional free play each day but I'll believe that when I see it.

We were assigned room 6217 in the Palms Tower. You enter though into a large entry way. Off to the side is a powder room with toilet and vanity.

The entry way opens up into a large living room with a couch, coffee table, arm chairs, end tables, wall unit with flat screen TV, and small wet bar area. To the side there is a dining area with a small dining room table. Through a door is the bedroom with a king bed, nightstands, arm chairs & ottoman and wall unit with a flat screen TV and dresser.

The main bathroom is large with a walk in closet to the left and toilet room to the right. Straight ahead is a dual sink vanity, to the left a whirlpool tub and to the right is the walk in shower.

This suite has a view of the grounds here at Rampart, downtown to the left and the Strip to the right. This is a pretty good sized suite. It is smaller than the suite we had in the summer but is more than ample for our needs.

We got our stuff situated for the week and then we were off to the casino. We started off with 3/5 play. Within the first five minutes Dee hit a quad. I was dealt 4 to a royal and scored on line 4 with my 3rd of the trip. We continued to pound away as Dee hit more quads and I didn't hit any. The joke was I have hit more royals than quads so far today. That quads finally started coming. Dee hit aces and I hit just about every quad there is to hit.

We were getting hungry so we cashed out with around $1000 in winnings and went to get something to eat at the Promenade Cafe. We both ordered off the 3 course menu. Dee got chicken Alfredo with a salad and apple cobbler. I Got chicken egg rolls, prime rib and apple cobbler. I knew I shouldn't be getting prime rib in a cafe but I wanted to give it a shot. It did have some decent flavor but it was pretty tough. I went in expecting it not to be great and I was right therefore I wasn't disappointed.

We returned to the machines and this time we played Spin Poker. Similar to what happened on the 3/5 plays earlier within a few minutes I hear Dee go, “Oh, arg, OH?” I looked over and saw it and said “You got it, you fuckin' got it!” as she scored her first quarter royal of the trip.

We continued on and got lots of dealt winners and quads, some hands, with 3 quads In them and our meters were going up. This was a welcomed change compared some some of the VP days we've had this trip. Dee took a hail Mary shot on double – double with the remaining dollars on her meter above her cash out point and scored a triple quad raising her meter up and her quit point too. I didn't do a Hail Mary but did manage a few more quads and a dealt full house and we finally cashed out with about $500 in winnings and that was above the ticket Dee cashed out after she hit the royal.

We had enough action in for the day and stopped by the host office to see our host and to activate my free play she also matched Dee's free to to be the same as mine. We discussed a few things and how to handle our play. We finally decided to play the first 4 days on my card and the last 3 on Dee's. This way we'd both get free play and Dee's offers won't tank.

It was getting late so we ran today's free play though quarter triple play turning the $175 into $190 cash.

We came back to the room after this and watched TV until we went to bed.
