Day 7
Monday June 26, 2017
Today is moving day so we packed up our things and got ready for the move. We went to breakfast at the Hawthorne Grill. I had Apple Pie Waffles and Dee had Crunchy French Toast with Bananas and Blueberries. The food was excellent and if you want a real sugar rush in the morning the waffle is the way to go. The place is pricey (think strip prices) but the food was good, service attentive and the room and views are nice.

After breakfast I stopped by the host office and asked about comping the room charges. Since my host left I had some uncertainty about how things were going to go but all was taken care of.

We came back, got ready for the day and headed out of Rampart and back to the D. At the valet at Rampart there was a family with 2 SUVs. Once their cars were brought around and loaded they both found it convenient for them to play on their phones for 10 minutes while they had the entire area blocked off. No one could come in or out. When we finally got the car the valet apologized for the wait. I told him it wasn't his fault and I knew he couldn't say it but that guy was an asshole. He got a chuckle out of that.

One good thing is we already had the room at the D so we were able to just run right up there with our things and get ready for the next 2 nights here.

Today we'd be playing on Dee's card so repeated the process from yesterday turning in the LVA coupon and getting Dee's food vouchers.

For the match plays we went to the roulette table again. Also once again did the usual betting. The first one on black and red came up for the $50 loss. One the second coupon I played odd and 10 came up for the $50 loss and high on the $25 match play and low came up for another $25 loss for a net loss $125 with match plays here again today. That's 6 straight losses and $250 down the toilet.

From there we hit the machines. Since we had more time to play today than yesterday we decided on quarter 8/5 bonus progressives at the Vue bar. The royal progressive was $1328 and the straight flush was up to $133, more than double the normal amount. It was streaky to say the least with both of us up and down on the meter. On a Hail Mary attempt I switched to the short pay double – double hoping to land a quad with the meter approaching $100. I landed quad fives for the $104 hit and switched back to bonus.

Back to bonus and in just a few hands I hit quad aces. Dee was all over the place ranging from being up a little to being down almost $200. We continued to plug along as the royal and straight flush grew. Dee had a lot of near misses on the royal and I finally took down the straight flush for 723 coins. We cashed out at this point with a $100 win. Not bad but not great considering the premium hands I hit.

We took a break and went to the front desk to check in on Dee's offer. Her offer is identical to mine and we booked it for the cousins. Checking in was easy and Dee was assigned room 3005. This is a king room that's pretty much identical to our room except for the safety bars in the bathroom. It also has a couch (it's a sleeper sofa) and a fridge. We threw a few items into the room for the cousins and went back tot he casino.

We took a dinner break and once again went to Andiamo. Tonight we'd be having a full dinner.

I started off with the Italian Wedding Soup. This was really rich and leaps and bounds over anything you'd get out of a can. Dee had the Snails.

For our entrees Dee had the Lobster Risotto on the recommendation of our friend AP. She wasn't disappointed and said it was really good. I opted for Veal 'all Aldo. It's veal tenderloin with prosciutto and fontina cheese. It was tasty but the portion was weak with only 3 slices about 1/8 of an inch thick. If it weren't for the appetizer and ½ the bread basket I would have still been hungry. Although it was good I wouldn't order it again based on this. With that said it was another great meal here at Andiamo. That we topped off with dessert. Dee had a chocolate cake item and I had a cake that was filled with cannoli filling. It was really rich and I took half of it to go. When the bill came we were 27 bucks short of the $150 in vouchers Dee had so we ordered 2 additional desserts to go and we'll use those up tomorrow.

We hit the machines again after dinner. Dee didn't want to sit at the uncomfortable bar tops so we played the progressive near the sports book instead. That royal had been hit since last night and was only $1022. It was a pretty hellish session with what should have been enough quads to keep alive. I also hit a straight flush and as quick as I hit it, it was gone. The swings were so bad that every time I'd hit a premium hand 10 minutes later my meter would be lower than before I hit it. Dee did much better than I did hovering after each quad. She only dropped about $40 the whole time while I dropped over $200. As always, the last few points we needed to reach our goal is where I lose the biggest chunk. It never ceases to amaze me how often that happens. We finally hit the max for Dee's coupon and went to the players club to have the free play added. We ran her $200 free play through a variety of slots and video poker turning it into $165 in cash.

We came to the room after we cashed out and wrapped up with some TV.
