Day 8
Tuesday June 27, 2017
We were up early today and started off by going to the gym here at the D. We haven't done enough active things this trip especially for Dee so hopefully today we'll start doing better.

We had to leave the D and head over to the valet to get the car and head to the airport. The cousins are scheduled to arrive at 11:42am and we had to pick them up. Before that we stopped at the grocery store to get some stuff. Then it was on to the airport. We arrived at about 11:30 and waited for their plane to arrive. We met them in Baggage claim and headed back to the D for a really light lunch/snack. The reason for a light snack was because we have dinner reservations at Hugo's Cellar at the Four Queens later tonight.

Next it was over to the Four Queens. We both have mail offers for $100 in free play and the chance to earn additional free play and gift cards for earning points. The rest of the offer is up to 3 nights and a $50 food credit. I also have a reservation that we'll be checking on on later today for just one night in order to use the food credits.

The first stop was to check in to the room I had booked and that went well. We were assigned room 133 in the South Tower. When we got off the elevator the hallways were all covered because of renovations. Honestly they shouldn't have rented this room to anyone. It was recently renovated but like in the last phase the renovation was half assed. This is a king room with nightstands, table/work desk with coffee maker, dresser and flat screen TV. The bathroom is brand new with a new shower stall, toilet and vanity. The room has a great view of the roof, pipes, air handling equipment and walls. Another reason this room shouldn't have been sold unless they were at capacity.

We started playing and in an effort to save time gave up some EV and opted for bonus deuces on the 50/100 plays. What a mistake. While Dee was getting lots of dealt winners I was down $200 before getting my first dealt winner with a deuce in it. I was bleeding to death as I was dealing and dumping hand after hand. Dee got beat up but a rebuy got her back into it and she hovered for a while. I moved over to a 100 play machine hoping my luck would change. It got a little better but not much. Then I got dealt a great hand with 3 deuces. On the draw I pulled 5 sets of deuces in the first 46 hands and none on the top half of the screen. This was a disappointment to say the least. I played a bit longer and then got killed more. I cashed out with a $500 loss. I moved to 9/6 jacks for dollars after that while Dee continued to hover.

Jacks weren't much better and all I hit was one quad and dropped another $175.

We switched to Dee's card and played jacks for halves. It was not very good but it wasn't terrible. One thing that has been irritating me is that every time I hit a premium hand like a full house, flush or quad, I lose the next 10-15 hands in a row. Sometimes a few high pair in between but it's been pretty typical the last few days. We plugged along and at the same time both hit quads. Hers was fours and of course mine was dealt aces. She would hit a few more but this would be my only quad for the session. We had to stop to get ready for dinner and between us cashed out with another $75 in losses.

We met up with the cousins again and it was time for dinner. I made a reservation at Hugo's Cellar. They've never been here before and they were looking forward to it. We had reservations for 6pm and were seated right on time. Dee ordered snails and Beef Wellington. I ordered the 10oz filet mignon. These come with a large table side salad they offer. As always the meal was excellent as was the service. The bill for the 4 of us was $333. I charged $50 to the room to use the food credit and used comps on Dee's card to cover the difference.

After dinner the cousins retreated back to the room as they've had a really long day and we wrapped up our play. Back to the 50¢ jacks we went. Dee popped a straight flush right away and then multiple full houses and flushes and was up well over $100. I hit a few fulls too and a quad and was also up close to $100. We pounded away for a while holding steady. But, the next thing I see is Dee's meter right down where she started. I landed a quad (yup, aces again) and as fast as it racked up, it was gone. The bleed was on yet again. Dee actually busted out of the $200 she bought in for despite hitting a straight flush to start the session. The biggest issue was she hit more straight flushes than she did quads. Between us we dropped almost $400 more dollars as one of my best plays in town has cost me a grand.

We went to the players club to have the promo free play added to our accounts as well as the ACG coupon for 2x points (up to 500) and the LVA coupon for $10. In total we both now had $210 in free play. We both ran it through quarter jacks and Dee turned hers into $202 and I turned mine into $220 thanks to a quad. It should have been higher than that but as always as soon as I hit the quad I lost about 15 straight hands.

With our play done for the day we came back to the D. On the way through I saw a slot I liked that I had only ever seen in dollars that they had for quarters. We played for a bit and hit a bonus. Not wanting to give it all back after the bonus we cashed out and won a quarter!!

We came up here after that and wrapped up the night getting ready for tomorrow's move and watched TV.
