Day 9
Wednesday June 28, 2017
We were up early this morning and packed up the few things we used during this short stay at the D.

We met up with the cousins and then headed to The Four Queens and Magnolia's to have breakfast with AP and Mare. Mare had to cancel so it was just the 5 of us. I had blueberry pancakes and Dee had a bagel. The meal was as good as it gets for Magnolia's and we had a great time telling stories from our trip. AP picked up the tab with some of his many comps he's got built up at the Four Queens. Thanks for breakfast AP!

We headed out and back to the D. We grabbed our stuff from the rooms and got the car out of the valet. From the D we'd be jumping on 95 and heading 90 miles south to Laughlin. The drive was standard issue with nothing major happening. When we arrived to the Laughlin area we rolled into the Aquarius.

I booked the Aquarius stay through my host and we both had mail offers with free play. Dee's offer is for $135 and mine is for $350. Our host also sent Dee a birthday card with $75 free play and an anniversary card with $100 for us to share. We were also booked into a 2 bedroom suite (which is a suite with an adjoining room) for the entire stay. We were also booked into the 4th of July Rockets on the River viewing party on July 1.

We were assigned rooms 11067 and 11068. These rooms are the double door rooms at the ends of the hallways over looking the river and the adjoining room. You enter into the living room area. To the right is a bar area with sink, coffee maker and fridge. Farther to the right is a guest bathroom with a toilet and a sink. There's a large dining table in the area across from the bar. In the center of the room is the living room area with a couch, 2 arm chairs and a coffee table. There's a 42 inch TV and a dresser on the far wall and a work desk to the left of the entrance.

The bedroom is in its own room making this a true suite. The bedroom is very similar to the standard rooms here with a king bed, night stands, chair, work desk, dresser and 32" flat screen TV. The bathroom is about twice the size of the bathrooms in the standard rooms but has no real extras in it other than the extra long vanity area. Both of the rooms have views of the Colorado River but no view of the rest of Laughlin because of the location of the suites at the end of the building. Along with the river you can also see across to Arizona and there's a great view of the mountains. There's also an amazing view of The Home Depot too! No where else do you get such a great view of it (well maybe the Riverside).

The second bedroom and adjoining room is a standard room with a king bed, nightstands, work desk/table, dresser & TV. It has a view of the pool area and the river looking down south towards Colorado Belle and Edgewater. The bathroom is standard issue with a toilet, tub and sink and small quarters.

We got our things to the rooms and got settled in for the next 5 nights.

After we checked in we drove over to the Arizona side and took the cousins to the grocery store so they could grab a few items for the stay. A few minutes later we were on our way back to Laughlin and pulling into the Aquarius.

We all met up for dinner and went to Outback. I tried the ribs and Dee tried the Cobb Salad. All of us also split the Bloomin' Onion.

After dinner we hit the machines and played 10 play bonus poker for quarters. It was decent with lots of dealt winners and quads including some aces and bonus quads. It got tight after that and I started getting killed. Dee was hovering and hitting a good amount of quads. We were getting in a fair amount of play but no major hits. I was down hard and switched to double – double hoping for a quad in my Hail Mary attempt and hit a royal flush on line 8. This saved the day from being a total bust.

We played a bit more switching to 5 play and Dee was in her Hail Mary mode and landed a bonus quad to stay alive. I lost the rest of my credits (not the royal). We cashed out with only about a $200 win even with the royal.

We finished up the play for the night running free play through 9/6 jacks for quarters. I had my $350 from my mailer and also the $50 from the anniversary card our host sent us. At first it was ok with a few flushes and full houses. Then it was a struggle to even get a pair of jacks. When we were finished running the $400 through we had only $335 in cash.

We wrapped up the night in the room with some TV!
