Day 4
Thursday December 14, 2017
We were up early this morning and got ourselves ready and packed up for the move.

When we got to the valet area it was jam packed and there were no attendants. After about a 15 minute wait someone showed up. Five minutes later the car finally came around. I'm not sure what was going on but this was unacceptable.

We headed out and took the 90 mile drive down to Laughlin which was uneventful. The only issue was a stretch of 95 that was under construction. From Searchlight to Cal-Nev-Ari it was down to 1 lane in each direction. The southbound side was completely gone for almost this whole stretch. We finally arrived at the Aquarius where would be be spending the next 4 nights.

I booked this through my host who had us set up in room 18130. It's actually the small suite on the Casino Drive side of the hotel tower. It's got a living room with a TV, couch, chairs and coffee table. There is also a small “kitchen” area with a sink, coffee maker and fridge. The bedroom is the same as the regular rooms with a king bed, night stands, dresser, work desk, TV and table. It has a view of what used to be the pool area, the valet area and Casino Drive. You can see a little bit of the river as well.

I also had $225 in free play from a mailer, $60 in free play for my birthday and my host got me $75 in free play to make up for my offers that had dropped like a rock. Dee also has a mailer for $125.

We were also invited to the December birthday and anniversary party at the Vineyard Restaurant on Saturday.

We got our things up to the room and took a short break while Dee watched her show (The Young and the Restless).

Went went to lunch at Cafe Aquarius. Dee got Eggs and I got the hot open turkey sandwich and a cup of creamy chicken and rice soup. The soup was good but the turkey was like rubber and tasteless. Dee's eggs were good. The service was slow.

Next up it was time to hit the casino. We chose to start off with 3/5/10 play. I chose 10 play to start. Things were going well with quads to keep going, dealt winners and a good number of dealt straights. Dealt flushes and full houses were weak at only one each. Dee was playing triple and five play. She was getting beat up but the held 3 aces and landed the quad on 2 of 3 lines to get back into it. She continued to pound away switching between 3/5/10 play. A lack of quads for her was killing her.

I continued to pound away on 10 play going through some streaks but pulling out of them with small clumps of quads. I did eventually bust out of the $300 I bought in for but stuffed another $200 into the machine. I was holding my own when I got dealt 4 to a royal and hit my first of the trip on line #7. I played a bit longer and cashed out with exactly $1200 on the meter for a $700 win.

Dee wasn't as lucky and continued getting beat on. She cashed out with a $200 loss. This left us with a net win of $500 for the session on over 16k in action.

We took another break and then hit the gym. Dee continues her physical therapy and hitting the gym each day will continue to help her. After a work out we came back up to the room, got cleaned up and headed out again.

This time we played 9/6 jacks single line for halves. It was another pretty good session. No real high points but plenty of bigger hands like flushes and full houses kept both of us going. Quads weren't coming but I finally hit one, of course, it was aces. Dee was hovering for quite a while but then started to fade. She ended up down $100 but I got out even.

For dinner we went to The Cove. We had a pizza with sausage, pepperoni and extra cheese, well done. It was pretty standard Aquarius food and filled us up. The service was terribly slow tonight for some reason though. While we were eating a guy came up to my table and asked if I knew someone. I did know the person in question and I also knew this guy (although he didn't know I did). It was Jon a.k.a Sionow from the message boards I am on.

After we ate it was back to the machines. We played 9/6 jacks for quarters this time around. I ran my free play through turning the $360 into $325 cash. It was a decent session and I was close to even for most of it until the end. That's when I went around 30 straight hands without a pay off. I'm sure glad I wasn't playing dollars!

This wrapped up the evening and we came up to the room and called it a night.
