Day 5
Friday December 15, 2017
We started off with some in room food and relaxing this morning. Dee read and I worked on this report and got caught up on e-mails.

It was now time for video poker. We played 3/5/10 play again. Dee was hovering without hitting and premium hands and that's always good. One killer was her getting dealt trip aces 3 times in about 20 hands and not scoring on any of them. Later on she did it again though and finally popped one.

I was playing ten play not getting much. I also got dealt trip aces and hit one quad. Minutes later it was gone. I also hit a straight flush, a few bonus quads, two more sets of aces and various other quads and dropped $500 on only 3k in action. I was not happy with this result.

Dee continued to plug along with some dealt winners and quads. I made the switch to five play and was doing much better. I hit aces again, a few regular quads and on a 3 card hold double quad fours. I also had a dealt full house and dealt flush. I had run the meter up to a point I was ahead by $300 since the switch. Then the bleed happened and in about 5 minutes dropped $150 of that with very few hits. Many hands were no pay off at all. We quit with Dee breaking even and me dropping $350 on a total of about 10k in action. Overall not a terrible result.

We stopped playing and took an early lunch break at Cafe Aquarius. Dee got a Aquarius Pastrami with fries and I got chicken fingers. The fingers are excellent here but a bit salty. Dee said her sandwich was excellent and could only eat half of it because it was rich and filling.

After lunch we came up here to the room for a very short break and then headed back down to the casino.

It was time for some more video poker action. This time we chose to play 9/6 jacks for halves. Dee had a great start landing a straight flush and a few quads and lots of full houses. I was struggling to get a pair. The on going joke was that she had more straight flushes than I had full houses. Dee continued to do well as I slowly bled. I'd hit a pocket of good stuff to get back to even then it would go away. This repeated itself over and over until I was down $100.

I switched over to dollar play for another $100 and the same thing happened. I did end up losing the $100 here too but somehow managed to get over $1200 in action out of it.

When I lost this Dee cashed out with just over $200 in winnings and that gave us a tiny win for the session.

As we were coming back through the casino Dee saw a Money Rain Machine she wanted to play. Just as we got there someone sat down so we played a different version of the game. We hit a couple of bonus rounds but between those it was rough. We managed to get out of it with a 30¢ win!

It was now mid afternoon and time for Dee to hit the gym to get some physical therapy in.

We left the gym and came back to the room to get cleaned up and ready for the evening.

It was back to the machines again after this. This time around we played 5 play. It wasn't very good this time around for me. I was going way too many consecutive hands with no pay back at all. Dee was doing a little better hitting a straight flush and various quads. I got my fair share of quads but the drain in between was too much. I lost $200 and bought in again. Things turned around for a while and I got back to even but then those zero pay back hands were coming one after another. Dee continued to hover and even hit a second straight flush. She started going through the same thing I was. We called it quit when she was even and I was down close to $100.

On the way out of the area I put a twenty into a Texas Tea machine. We played for a while even getting 5 armadillo on one line for 2500 coins. We only hit one bonus round for about 6 bucks but got a good amount of play in. We cashed out here with a $10 win and went to get something to eat.

For dinner we went to The Cove again. I ordered Chicken Parmesan off the Vineyard Favorites menu and Dee ordered Casino Mushrooms. The service was much better tonight than yesterday. The food was pretty good too. I used my second set of vouchers to cover the bill and was going to charge the extra dish to the room but the server comped it all off. Whoo hoo!

We wrapped up the night with a donut at Duet. After 2pm they are buy one get one free!

Afterwards we came up to the room and watched TV and then got some sleep.
