Day 14
Sunday December 24, 2017
We were up early again and got ready for the day and packed up the rest of our things.

We headed out of M then to the laundromat to get our clothes and then downtown to the Four Queens where we'd be staying tonight. I effing hate doing one night stays but our offers were off by a day so I'm going to tough it out.

I have a mail offer for 3 nights (I booked 2), $300 free play and $50 in food.

When we got downtown I parked the car and we stopped by the front desk to see if we could check in. We could which was great. I was assigned room 402 in the north Tower. It has not been renovated. This is a room underneath the Fremont Street Experience Canopy as I requested from my host. This is a king room with nightstands, table, work desk with coffee maker, dresser and flat screen TV. The bathroom is old and tiny with a tub, toilet and vanity. The room has a great view of the Fremont Street Experience. It's actually the best seat in the house. You can see all of the stupidity going on down there without actually being in the middle of it! One thing I can say is, Toto, we're not at M anymore!

We went over to the D where we'd be playing on Dee's card today. The first stop was the players club to get Dee's food vouchers, and to turn in her coupon from the ACG for $5 free play for every 50 points up to $100. We also turned in her coupon for a $25 match play. She's also got a mailer with two $50 match plays and $100 in free play.

Once all of the business was conducted we went upstairs to the Vue bar and started pounding away. The progressive royal was $1064, the straight flush was $170 and the quad was over $50. We started off playing and Dee got her ass kicked. Kicked isn't even the word for it. She was down $200 on $400 in action. And this was playing quarters. She leveled off after this and hovered for a while. I was hitting some full houses and flushes. Someone else took down the now $60 quad. I was mad! Dee continued to hover while I now bled. I fed in another bill and immediately hit a quad. I brought the meter all of the way back and even went into positive territory for a while thanks to a few more quads.

Dee turned things around by hitting quad aces which really helped her out. Soon after she landed a straight flush and took down the over $200 progressive. This actually got her ahead a little bit and she hovered for a while. I started losing a bit when I went through one of those spells of losing 15-20 straight, pushing on a hand or 2 then losing 15 more. Dee cashed out when she got to even. I'm usually happy with even but after hitting aces and a $200 straight flush that's not so good. I dropped $50.

It was time for dinner. I made a reservation at Andiamo at the D so we could use up Dee's food vouchers. The reservation was set for 5:30pm and we were seated right away. This is actually one of our favorite restaurants for higher end dining. They revised the menu here and took some things away. Our server Sandy said the changes have not been met with happy customers and the menu will be changing again in the near future. Dee got banana peppers and sausage for an appetizer and a pasta and chicken dish for her entree. I got the giant meatball for my appetizer and a porterhouse for my entree. As always the food was excellent here tonight. The only exception was my steak that I ordered medium rare that came out medium. Normally I'd send it back but if I did, by the time a new one came out I wouldn't have been hungry anymore. For dessert I was given a creme brulee for my birthday. Dee ordered chocolate cake. The vouchers covered everything and then some.

After dinner we finished up Dee's play on halves to max out her coupon. She hit aces right away and I hit a few quads as well. She was pounding away when she got dealt a straight with 4 to a royal. This has been a pretty unlucky hand for us this trip so far but for a change she filled in the royal for a $2000 hit! We continued to play with me bouncing up and down but eventually losing $100. Dee cashed out with a win of $150 plus the royal cash.

We then hit the players club to have the free play added. To Dee's account. Back upstairs to the video poker machines Dee now had $200 in free play to run through. Thanks to quad fives and a good amount of full houses she turned the $200 in free play into $250 cash.

On the way out we stopped by the roulette tables so Dee could do her match plays. She played the first one on black and black came up for the $100 win. Spin 2 she played odd and even came in for for a $50 loss. The 3rd one was the $25 match play. She played that on low and 0 came up for the $25 loss. Net win was $25 on match plays.

For anyone keeping score at home you may remember we lost 9 straight in the summer here. Combined with these results we've lost 11 of the last 12 we played here.

We left the D and came back over here to the Four Queens where we watched some of the action down on Fremont Street and then finished the night with some TV and then bed.
