Day 15

Merry Christmas to ALL
Happy Birthday to ME!

Today is my birthday and I'm 47. I woke up sick. Fuck! We started off with breakfast at Magnolia's. I had Blueberry Pancakes and a side of bacon. Dee had simply jazz. Everything was good and we left full. I paid the bill with comps off of my players card. We've got more than we know what to do with here.

Now it was time to play. Today we decided to play 9/6 jacks for dollars. It was a pretty bad session. We dropped $800 between us and didn't even get 7k in play. I hit 2 quads and that was about all. Dee didn't hit shit.

We switched to quarters to level things off. Not much happened here but enough quads to keep alive. Dee broke even and I won $50.

We went to the Rush Tower check in area only to see a sign telling us to go to the main check in area. Seriously? You've got 8 agents down there and can't move one or two of them up here. We got in line to check in. It really sucks not having a higher tier card here. We'd be checking on for the next 4 nights (staying only 3) on a mail offer Dee got for 4 nights, and $110 in free play. Checking in was fine except for the two tools that took upwards of 20 minutes to check in. I will never understand why it takes people so long to check in when we're usually done in 3 minutes. We were assigned room 12204. This is a handicap accessible room with a king bed, nightstands, work desk, flat screen TV, dresser and couch. It has a view of the Plaza, Main Street Station, Binion's and what's left of the Las Vegas Club.

The bathroom is pretty nice and has a nice dual sink vanity, tub/shower and toilet all with safety bars. It's quite large and had barn doors.

I ran back over to the Four Queens and grabbed our things and rolled them back over here to the Golden Nugget. We got settled in and then met up with our friends Jimbo and Katy over at the Four Queens.

For dinner we all got together and went down to Hugo's Cellar. They've never been here before so we invited them to join us for Christmas Dinner. This place is old school and pretty cool. We had a reservation for 5:30. The ladies got their traditional rose and we were seated right away. I passed on the appetizer and ordered my usual 10oz filet that comes with all sides and the “famous” table-side salad. Dee ordered raspberry chicken and snails for an appetizer.

For dessert I was given a small piece of chocolate cake with a blob of ice cream on it. Dee ordered caramel cheesecake.

After a great meal the $300 bill showed up. I charged $50 of the bill to the room and used my many built up comp dollars to cover the balance.

After dinner Jimbo and Katy left. We hit the machines again to wrap up play. Noting noteworthy happened but Dee squeaked out a $20 win and I got out even.

I ran my $300 free play through half dollar jacks. I hot a quad but that was about all. I luckily got out with the full $300. Our day was finally done at the Four Queens and I logged yet another loss here on the best play I've got.

We came back over to the Golden Nugget and played some VP together. We played the short pay crap for 5 play. This time around it was tough at first. We were both bleeding and I can't even blame the pay tables because we just weren't hitting anything. Then I hit a royal on line 4 and Dee started having a come back. She got dealt a quad and then back to back full houses. She hovered after that while I continued to bleed. We got the desired amount of action in and escaped with about a $500 win here at the Golden Nugget.

We wrapped up the night and came up here to wind down after a long and action packed Christmas day.
