Day 22
Monday January 1, 2018
We slept in a little later than we have been sleeping making up for a late night last night.

We started off the day with meeting my uncle for lunch. He recently moved to Henderson and I hadn't seen him in many years. We went to lunch at the buffet. They were running holiday brunch and prices today. Definitely not worth the price. This buffet is not that great and for them to tag it with a $23 price tag is embarrassing.

Then we hit the casino and the video poker machines. My uncle wanted to see what we did to get things comped. No way he'd learn it all in one quick session of show and tell. I played a very short session of 10 play and as luck would have it holding a single ace popped the quad for the $100 win. I was hoping this was going to be the start of a good day.

My uncle left and we hit the machines. The luck did not continue. Between us we dropped $500 in less than 4k in action. We moved to a different bank of machines and the same exact thing happened. Now down $900 on the day and less than 7k in action. No dealt winners and a few quads but nothing that would keep either of us alive.

Next I tried $100 in the video craps with the pop-o-matic dice. I'm sure glad this wasn't a real table with higher limits. Another $100 was gone in short order.

I ran my free play allotment ($263) through quarter single line hoping for a few good hits. No such luck. Only one full house, one flush and a few straights. I turned the $263 into just $218 cash in another awful run.

For a change of pace and some fun we machine hopped a bunch of penny games. We could get much action on these either. It seemed no matter what we touched it turned to crap. About $100 flew away on this disaster too.

They were running a kiosk game today where you choose one of 3 snowflakes. I picked the one with $10 free play. I ran that through single line and got $8.75 out of it.

Next we tried some 5 play quarters with the machines set slow. I didn't really want to lose more tonight but it was so early I didn't want to go to bed either. I was initially getting beat up but double quad threes helped me along. Dee was hovering for a while but as soon as I won that $100 she started getting crushed. By the time it was over I had won $100 and she lost $200 for a net loss of another $100. I couldn't take the continual losses anymore so we went to eat.

For dinner we went to the Promenade Cafe. Dee had a BLT and I had grilled cheese and tomato soup. It was as good as it gets when you order those items.

After dinner was a trip to the players club to cash in some points from my card. I cashed in $500 to offset some of today's losses.

We packed it in early tonight because I wanted to get up and out early because we had a busy day planned.
