Day 23
Tuesday January 2, 2018
We were up early and headed out of Rampart to Fremont Street.

First was a stop over at Binion's. We both have offers for January that are good for 3 nights, $50 food and $300 free play. In an effort to save time and to get both of our action in we chose to play dollars. I hate playing dollars because of the swings.

This session was awful. I was getting a quad then losing 15 straight after it. Dee was getting nothing. Finally towards the end Dee hit a few quads but it was too late. Once we had our action in between us we were down $1400.

I went and did my mother lode spins on the kiosk and got a free drink on spin #1, $10 at Deli or BBQ on spin #2 and spin #3 was $20 at the Cafe or BBQ.

We went back to the machines to play on Dee's card next. This time around it was like night and day compared to the previous session. We were both hitting quads and hanging on to them after we hit them. Before I knew it my meter was doubled up and Dee was up as well. Quads, bonus quads, full houses and more. Once we had her action through we were up $850. If only I hadn't lost $1400 earlier!

We went and did Dee's mother lode spins and similar to last time she got a 2 for 1 entree at the cafe on spin #1. On spin number 2 she got $10 off at the Cafe or BBQ and spin #3 was a gift. This turned out to be a Christmas Blanket which we took but not knowing if there would be room in the suitcase to take it home Thursday.

We both ran our free play through 8/5 bonus for quarters. I turned my $300 into $250 and Dee turned hers into $250 in a pretty rough span of play.

The next order of business was a stop at the D. Today they are offering 5x points. I'm also going to turn in the coupon from the ACG that's good for $5 in free play for every 50 (base) points earned. I also have a mailer good for $75 in free play, $100 in food and two $50 match plays.

I made a quick stop at the players club to get the food vouchers and to activate my ACG coupon. I also turned in the ACG coupon for the $25 match play.

From here it was up to the machines. I started off with a quad right away but it was gone as quick as I hit it. Dee was getting blasted and I was on a slow and steady drain. I hit another quad and it was gone faster than the first one. Dee finally hit a quad but it was too late. I hit one more to keep from busting out and we were down $850 by the time we maxed out the coupon.

We took a break and went to lunch over at Binion's Deli. We both got burgers and used a $10 mother lode ticket and comps off my card for the balance.

Next we went over to the Golden Nugget. On the way there we watched them tearing apart the last of the Las Vegas Club hotel tower. It was cool to see how it was being done and we took some pictures and video of it.

In the Golden Nugget I had $60 free play so took a shot at some short pay crap that they offer. It worked out with us hitting a few quads and dealt winners helped Dee. I lost a little but she did well and turned a profit of about $175. I let Dee run my free play through and she turned the $60 into just under $50 and we left the Golden Nugget.

We went back over to the D and I played my match plays. Today I did them on blackjack. First hand I got 12 against a dealer 5. He flipped over a 7 and painted it with a face card for a $100 win. Hand 2 I'm dealt another 12 against a dealer 4. He flips over the 10 and drops a 10 on it for another $100 win. The 3rd hand was the $25 match play which I lost when I held my 14 against his 4 when he flipped an ace over and dropped a 3 on it. I won $175 on match plays which helped ease some of the VP losses.

I went back to the players club to have free play added. I also got $100 cash back from the points I had built up. They only let you do $100 a day which sucked because I had about $250. Then back up to the machines again. I ran the free play through 8/5 bonus turning the $175 into $275 cash. This was thanks to hitting quad aces on a three card hold.

Amazingly, after all of the beatings we took, combined with free play, cash back and match plays we got out of the day EVEN at this point. I don't know how it happened because it looked like it was going to be a disaster but somehow we pulled it off.

We left the D and the valet took 30 minutes to return the car. If this valet wasn't so convenient I wouldn't use them. The guys here just don't know how to valet.

We left Fremont Street and came back up here to Rampart.

We still needed to get some action in up here so hit the machines. Tonight we chose to play five play to start. I started on my card because I still had $262 in free play. I put on a small amount of action and won a quick $200 thanks to holding a single aces and landing the quad. I ran the free play through and turned it into $200 as well.

I switched to Dee's card after this and it wasn't quite as good. I lost $200 here with little action. Dee did well hitting a few quads along the way and getting out even.

We swiped our cards at the kiosk but there were no promos today. But the screen showed Dee had some drawing tickets available for the 50+ drawing. Odd since she's not 5o.

We decided to play 10 play and it was a decent session. I was hitting a fair number of quads and Dee was hovering for the most part. We both hit aces a few times to keep going. We cashed out even and it was time for the 7pm drawing so we activated Dee's entries. For the hell of it I checked my card and I had tickets too. Very odd since I'm also not 50.

We continued to play more 10 play. Nothing major was happening here but we hovered and got quite a bit of action in. I got out even again and Dee took a small loss.

It was time for the 8pm drawing but we weren't called this time either. We were waiting in the drawing area and not all of the people chosen showed up in time so they picked 4 more people. Dee was one of them and collects $25 free play. She just won a 50+ drawing and she's not even 50!

We went to the Promenade Cafe for dinner. I had the 3 course turkey with beef barley and pie. Dee had sizzling fajitas. Mine was standard issue and she said hers was excellent.

After dinner Dee ran her free play through single line quarters. She got beat up a bit and hit no quads. She turned the $287 free play into about $250.

We wrapped up the night with some deuces. Dee played dimes and I played quarters. Just like the last few days she dropped a bill but I won $100 thanks to a dealt quint.

It was getting late so we came up here and called it a night.
