Day 5

We started off one more time with an early morning at the pool and our cabana.

We left the pool early and we came up to the room to get ready for the day. We wanted to go to the VIP buffet that I get each weekend for being a red card holder. The buffet here isn't very good although somehow it continues to win awards. The VIP portion of the buffet consists of a separate area, table cloths and cloth napkins and a few “exclusive” food items. Other than that it's the same as the rest of the people get.

We ate too much as usual and headed out of the Aquarius. Today's journey would take up the hill to Harrah's. Dee has an appointment to get her hair done at 1pm. We'll also be playing some video poker.

We got there a bit early for her appointment and started off with some video poker. The video poker here pretty much sucks but they have a few games that are OK. We chose to play bonus deuces on the 50 play machines for nickels this afternoon. It was OK, nothing special. I did hit a royal but only cashed out ahead by 11 bucks. Dee hit a few sets of deuces including one with a kicker and only cashed out ahead by $33. It was about time for Dee's appointment so I took her down to the salon and went back up to the casino to play some more.

I sat down at the same machine I had just left. It was streaky and I dropped 2 bills in no time. I reloaded and things started to happen. I got a hand dealt with 3 deuces and landed the quad on none of the lines. Seriously. WTF? This was soon followed by a dealt wild royal. Later on I got dealt 3 deuces again but actually scored one quad. The excitement started when I got dealt a flush with 4 to a royal. I said goodbye to the five of hearts and landed one royal on line #29. I got another hand dealt with 3 deuces and got the quad one time. Towards the end of the session I scored another royal on line #22 on a 2 card hold.

It was time to go get Dee so I cashed out and went back downstairs to get get her. We came back to the casino and continued to pound away at the video poker machines. Dee started off great getting a dealt quint. She was getting lots of dealt winners while I was struggling. I dropped 2 bills in minutes and had to do another reload similar to earlier. Things smoothed out for me and continued to go well for Dee when she got dealt 4 to a royal and landed one on line #16 and #24. She wasn't done there though. She got dealt 3 aces and a deuce and scored 6 sets of quint aces. I was starting to come back to life and got dealt a straight flush. As we were nearing the 2500 points we were shooting for Dee finished and cashed out with a $650 win. I played what was my last hand and got dealt another dirty royal which took me from a loss for the session to nearly a $100 win. For a change we actually got out of Harrah's with a win.

We cashed in our tickets and then got the car from the valet and came back here to the Aquarius. When we got back we took a short break in the room.

For dinner we went to Outback. I had the pork chop and Dee had the Cobb Salad. We also shared a Bloomin' Onion. The service pretty much sucked tonight and the food was standard issue Outback.

After dinner we hit the machines here at Aquarius. To put it bluntly we both got killed. I hit aces 3 times and still dropped 4 bills. Dee couldn't hit much of anything and also dropped 4 bills but on ½ of the action I did. Dealt winners were sparse and other the 2 straights we didn't get any larger dealt wins. I did have 2 cases where I was dealt RF4 and failed both times to get anything.

After winning so much up the hill earlier today I didn't want to end the day negative so we quit while we still had some of the gains left.

We came up to the room and wrapped up another day of action with some TV and sleep.
