Day 8
Tuesday June 26, 2018
We were up early this morning had in room breakfast of oatmeal and fruit and got ready to go to the pool for a while. The one thing I really hate about this hotel is the pool doesn't open until 9am. I think this is about 2 hours too late because it's already 9000 degrees. We spend some time down here with the cousins and then headed out.

While we were at the pool Dee was getting out of the water and twisted her ankle. She thought she broke it and all of us were hoping she didn't.

We came back up here to the room to get cleaned up and ready to go to urgent care. They did an x – ray and it showed no break. Just a bad sprain. All is well (as well as it gets).

We left urgent care and stopped at Target for a a few items (like an ankle brace).

Next up we had a quick lunch at Burger King. Nothing but high end dining this trip! A couple of Crispy Chicken Sandwiches for $6 and that did the trick.

We came back to Rampart and met up with the cousins in the suite for some rest and snacks.

We hit the casino next and started playing some video poker. Today is the 50+ promotion so Dee for the first time ever qualifies for these promos. There is also a video poker tournament for 50+ today that Dee registered for.

When we hit the machines we just got killed. Dee worse than I. About the only highlight was when I dumped a junk hand and hit 4 aces. Didn't matter though because I dropped 2 bills and Dee dropped 5. So a $700 loss on only 4k in action. Absolutely brutal and by far the worst session of the trip.

It was time for Dee's video poker tournament session. It's only 2 minutes and as many hands of Ultimate X bonus poker triple play. Dee was in 8th place for the session and in one hand jumped to 4th, then 2nd. She couldn't climb to the top though and remained in 2nd place by 215 points. First place in each session won $25 free play so this was a tough 2nd place.

We went back to the machines again for more losing. This session was almost as bad as the first with few dealt winners and just not being able to connect when holding a pair. Seriously never get it when you hold a pair and can't get one set of trips on ten hands. This was the theme as was holding trips and not scoring any quads repeatedly. Dee was doing well for a while hitting 4-5 bonus quads but she didn't hit much else. We dropped more cash here.

While we were playing Jimbo from Jimbo and Katy stopped by. They had just arrived in town and were going to get some play in. We also set up dinner plans for all of us.

Dee got to spin a fake wheel on the kiosk and won a whopping 2500 points (worth $12.50). Next up was the drawing for 50+ and we were hoping Dee would win something. That didn't happen but Jimbo won $25 when they had to draw additional names.

For dinner we went to the Promenade Cafe. I had chicken wings, ½ Asian Salad and a bowl of beef barley soup and Dee had ½ ham and cheese sandwich and the beef barley. We used Dee's $60 birthday food voucher and the $10 she won yesterday to cover most of the bill.

After dinner we hit the machines again. This time we played 3/5 play and it was just as bad as the 10 play machines. I kept the theme going of not being able to hit anything. Dee was holding her own and had a slow grow on the meter. I ended up dropping another $300 but Dee somehow was the big winner of the night this time around winning $100. It's just been a brutal day all around.

We came up to the room after that and watched TV for a while and then hit the sack.
