Day 14
Monday July 2, 2018
We were going to go to the pool today but the clowns here don't open it until 10am. Seriously? 10 am? Later we found out it's 9am.

We had some in room breakfast (remember that cake from yesterday?) then got ready for the day.

We saw Jimbo & Katy downstairs as they were getting ready to leave and head to Southpoint. I swiped my card to activate 2x points and then it was off to the machines.

We started off with jacks for dollars. This was a total bust when I dropped $300 on only 855 in action. Dee wasn't quite as bad dropping just $100 on 915.

In search of something else to play I found some All Stars with Super Times Pay but 7/5 bonus. Not a great option but better than most here now. We decided on 5 play. I hit quad aces right away. I was getting frequent 5x multipliers but not getting great results. Just enough to hold steady. Dee got a 5x and a dealt flush. That got her ahead and she hovered for a good long time. I was starting to lose and I got dealt 4 to a royal and filled in not one, but two lines plus some smaller stuff for a $2017.50 hand pay and a dreaded W2G. This is the first time ever that I got more than one royal in a draw on 3/5/10 play. Continuing on Dee got dealt quad fours without a multiplier. Things started to go cold so we both cashed out with $200 wins plus the royal for a $2400 winning session.

We took a break up in the room for a while. We were going to have a long afternoon because we're going downtown later on for gambling and dinner. We had some snacks in the room to hold us over.

We met up with the cousins at 3pm and headed downtown. The plan this afternoon was to play some at Binion's while the cousins explored Fremont Street. I had an offer for $300 free play. I also had the coupon from the American Casino Guide for double points (up to 500) and $10 free play from the Las Vegas Advisor. We got settled in and began to pound away for halves. Dee hit an early quad and pretty much hovered the rest of the session. My machine was streaky. I'd hit a quad then lose 15 hands. Then hover for a while. I eventually busted out of my initial buy in and reloaded. Things smoothed out from there and I hit a bunch of quads including deuces, tens and fives 3 times. It was time for dinner and at that time Dee was up about $100 and on my last hand got a dealt straight flush. Where was that when I was playing 10 play last week? In addition to that we both got dealt an abundance of straight, flushes and full houses. I'm surprised we didn't get a ton of dealt quads to add insult. I got out up by $65 with about 2/3 of our play finished.

We all headed upstairs to Binion's Top of the World Steakhouse. I've only been here one time before and thought it was good. With a ton of comps built up over the years this was going to be a good way to burn some of them. We had a 6pm reservation and everything was in order when we arrived. I had requested a window seat and that was granted.

I turned in the 25% off coupon from the Las Vegas Advisor and we ordered. Dee went with the Chicken Fried Lobster appetizer she had seen on a TV show. She opted for this to be her entree. I went with the Pork Tenderloin. We also got a couple of the Raspberry Walnut salads. I upgraded my potato to the chef's creamy au gratin for $4. The meal was excellent and everyone was happy with what they ordered.

The total bill was $238 before tax. The coupon took off almost $60 and we used in comps to cover the rest of the bill.

We went back to the machines to finish up our play. This time around wasn't as good as earlier. Few quads and long streaks of no pay offs. We dropped about $325 this time around but overall were only down about $150.

Once we had enough play in I went over and took my swipes on the Motherlode Kiosk. On spin #1 I got a 2 for 1 entree at the cafe. Spin #2 I got a free gift that turned out to be a coffee mug and on spin #3 I got $20 off at the cafe or deli. Long gone are the days of frequent free play prizes. In fact, only 5 of our last 50 spins have netted free play, cash or promo chips.

We left downtown and Fremont Street was a cluster fuck. I've never seen it so packed on a Monday night.

We came back to M after this.

It had been a long day at this point so we came up to the room to rest for a while and then went to sleep.
