Day 16
Wednesday July 4, 2018
Happy Independence Day to My American Readers
The cousins are departing today so we got ready for the day and met up in the valet area at 9:45. We headed out to take them to the airport. There were no issues getting there and we dropped them off and said our good byes. As always it was a great time spending the last week with them.

From the airport we went to Einstein Brothers for a quick breakfast of bagels and coffee & tea.

Next was on South Point to meet up with Jimbo and Katy. They are staying here right now. I haven't played here in almost 2 years because of a situation where we played over 18k, requested a comp to their cafe and were denied. Add to that their mailers are non existent to out of towners and if they do mail you anything it usually sucks. I decided to go there today only because they are running the promo for ˝ price gas cards with points and to visit our friends. This works out to a pretty good deal with their good games that are offered.

Dee has wanted to play Quick Quads for the last few weeks so I found her a machine with those for 8/5 bonus. All she wanted to do was hear the guy say “Quick Quads” but wasn't getting the opportunity. She did hit a few quads but none of the quick variety. She was just about busted out and took a Hail Mary on Double – Double and got dealt 3332A and the guy yelled “Quick Quads” and scared the shit out of both of us as it was totally unexpected.

While Dee was playing I played a Super Triple Play machine next to her with 10/5 Bonus. I started out like a ball of fire hitting a quad and a dealt full house but from there just died for a while. Another quad got me back into it but it would be my last quad. I ended up down 5 bills here and Dee dropped $100 on her machine. It wasn't a good start to the day.

Jimbo & Katy joined us after lunch. Jimbo went to play blackjack so I set Dee up on a regular 3/5 play machine and she played next to Katy while I went in search of Jimbo at the tables. I bought in at a $10 double deck game. It was really good to me I have to say. I wasn't betting like a maniac but increased by a unit each time I won. A few times getting up over $50 before losing and starting over. I didn't get many double opportunities but had a fair amount of blackjacks. I was up about $650 and things started to turn with me getting lots of crap hands and the dealer pulling 20-21. I got while the getting was good with a $500 win and Jimbo won five bucks. I was happy to offset the $500 loss on VP.

We met back up with Dee and Katy and I was excited to find out she did 3k in action and broke even.

We moved to nickel 50 play. Dee was getting crushed and then hit a royal flush on line #43. She struggled from there though. I was struggling at first and actually got down to my last few bets, took a Hail Mary on DDB and got dealt a full house. This got me back into it. I switched back and continued to do well even hitting a royal of my own on line #12. I got out even but Dee dropped $300 despite having hit that royal.

We took a break and Jimbo and Katy showed us their room. They were in a mini suite and it was pretty nice. Nothing fancy but plenty of space and a large bathroom.

While we were up there we were deciding on dinner. Jimbo said he'd introduce me to his host but she was off. Instead we used a different host and unlike 2 years ago ponied up a $75 comp to Primarily Prime Rib.

I was good with this because at this point I had 16k through the machines plus the blackjack play. When we got there they told us it would be about 45 minutes to wait because they had a wedding party they were about to seat. It wasn't that busy though and they got us in a few minutes later.

I ordered the South Point Cut Prime Rib that came with soup or salad (I got cream of chicken) and a potato. I also ordered creamed spinach. Dee ordered a pasta dish with shrimp that came with a salad and veggies. This is actually one of the better places we've come to while we're in town and it didn't disappoint. The total bill for 4 of us was only $114 so my comp covered $75 and Jimbo signed the rest to his room.

After dinner we wrapped up the play with 3/5 play. I was doing well hitting enough quads to stay alive. Dee was doing well too but had to make a few Hail Mary plays. It worked out each time for her. My meter started going up and down but I hit a set of aces and got right back into it. Dee took another Hail Mary and hit threes with a kicker to get ahead.

By now we had enough action in to get three $50 Chevron Gas Cards and between us we were up $100 on this play.

I went to the players club to get my voucher for the gas cards and then to the cage too get them. All in all it was a pretty good day here doing over 25k on video poker and playing blackjack for over 2 hours, eating a good meal and getting some gas cards. While the net result wasn't a win it was certainly a small enough loss on a full day of action. Action M would have gotten had they not cut the shit out of their video poker.

We left South Point and came back to M. It was getting late and had been a pretty long day so we came to the room to wind down and to start packing up our things because we are moving tomorrow.

Total Coin In for the day $25,081
Total win/loss for the day - $150 (Gas Cards Included as cash)
Total Comps for the day $370
Room $145
Food $75
Other $150 (Chevron Gas Cards)
