Day 20
Sunday July 8, 2018
This morning we got the rest of our things ready to go and then went over to the Four Queens again. Today we'll be playing on my card. I got a mail offer with $200 free play. I also have the $10 free play coupon from LVA and the double points (up to 500) from the ACG.

We started off with 50 plays in the name of saving time. They are short pay at 7/5 but a fairly smooth ride as well. Nothing major happened with exception of me getting dealt a standard quad and drawing an open ended straight flush and hitting five of them. The killer was getting dealt 4 to a royal and whiffing on all 50 tries. I ended the session down $50 even with the dealt quad. Dee didn't hit much of anything and lost $125. Much better result than yesterday though on the same action.

We went to breakfast at Magnolia's again. Dee only had a bagel and cream cheese and I had lunch even though it was 9am, a grilled cheese. Service was slow again today but the food was good.

After breakfast I went to the players club to turn in my ACG double points (up to 500) and the LVA $10 free play coupon.

I ran my $210 free play through quarter jacks turning it into $225 cash thanks to two last minute full houses. Overall we won $50 at the Four Queens today. Not much but compared to yesterday it's huge!

We came back over to the Golden Nugget took a break for a few hours including a mid morning nap (ain't vacations great?).

We got cleaned up got our things together and headed out.

Before our next hotel we went out to Henderson to drop off our laundry for fluff and fold service. From there it was back down to the strip.

Today's move takes us to the Cromwell. I had a mail offer from Caesars Entertainment for up to 5 nights (depending on property), $100 free play and $50 food. Based on past experiences booking The Cromwell on these offers I didn't even try it. Instead I tried to book Rio but the offer was blacked out. For the hell of it I tried the Cromwell expecting it to not be accepted and to my surprise it was. The offer here was only good for 3 nights and they wanted $99/night for the additional 2 nights. I decided to try adding Dee's card number to the reservation and it comped off the additional nights. Thanks to that we'll be here comped for the next 5 nights.

Checking in here was smooth. This property is almost like it's not part of the Caesars empire. Our room wasn't ready yet so we hit the casino to give them some minimal play on each of our cards. The video poker here is poor with exception of one bank that takes 5x the play to earn points. We went over to the Flamingo and found a couple of 100 play machines with Super Times Pay. The pay tables were absolutely horrid but we played double – double. We got a good amount of multipliers but rarely got anything dealt with them. I landed an 8x and got dealt straight flush 4 and pulled only one straight flush in 100 hands for 2000 coins. I actually did better on non multiplied hands getting dealt 3 aces twice. The first time I hit 8 sets of aces and 2 with a kicker. The next time I got 4 sets and 1 with a kicker. This kept me going for a while. Dee wasn't getting much of anything and the same thing happened to her with the multipliers. She even got a rare 10x and was dealt trash with a single high card. She didn't even cover her bet on this hand which was quite disappointing.

We were going to wrap up our play so we could go outside and see stuntman Travis Pastrana jump the fountains at Caesars Palace on his motorcycle. This is the same jump that nearly killed Evel Knievel 50 years ago. On my last hand I hit a royal for the whopping $40 hit and squeaked out a small win while Dee lost. Between us we dropped $150.

We found a spot outside the Flamingo to watch the jump from. Thanks to live network television waiting to the last minute to do anything to keep people watching we stood around for 2 hours to see the 3 second jump which was successful. I guess we can say we were part of history.

Back while we were playing I got a phone call from the Cromwell telling us the room was ready. So after the jump we went back to the Cromwell to get our keys. We were given room 533. This is an accessible king room. It has a king bed with nightstands, there is a sitting area with L shaped couch and a small coffee table that's also a checker board. There is a huge flat screen TV, a dresser that's actually filled with mini bar items and an old Victorian style chair. In the bathroom there's an armoir with some more dresser space and some room for hanging things. Next to that is a make up table that also features salon items for sale at high prices. The bathroom has a vanity, accessible shower stall and since this was originally the Barbary Coast back in the day, the featured window (replaced and not the original Barbary Window) in what is now the toilet area. The bathroom is a little different in this room than the regular rooms here. The room has a no view of anything but an alley.

We got settled into the room and took a short break. For dinner we went to Eat Well. I ordered Roast Beef Dip and Dee had the Cuban Press. I brought the sandwiches back to the room to eat so we could watch the rebroadcast of Travis making his jumps. He also jumped cars and buses over behind Planet Hollywood prior to going over to Caesars.

It was time for sleep but it was a noisy night with Drai's blasting music. This is the first time in all of our stays here that I ever heard this. It didn't bother me too much because I sleep with ear plugs in hotels. Dee didn't sleep much until it ended around 4am.
