Day 26
Saturday July 14, 2018
We hit the casino and started off with 3/5 play today. Dee started off with triple play and hit a quad on her first hand. From there she was doing well just hovering and hitting a quad here and there to stay alive. I was getting crushed on my machine playing 5 play. I was down $250 with no quads and my best dealt winner was 2 pair. I moved down one machine and things smoothed out a little bit but still weren't good. I was also still having the issue of not hitting quads on 3 card holds. While I was plugging along I hear Dee say “I got one”. I look over expecting to see aces and I see a royal on her top line. Sweet! We continued play and it was getting worse for me so I switched to triple play. This ended up working out well because few minutes later got dealt 4 to a royal and nailed one on the bottom line. I cashed out a few minutes later up only $500 for my session and watched Dee play. She continued to do well hitting more quads and a set of aces. I should have continued play but there was no way I was going to walk away from this bank of machines down after hitting a royal so I just continued to watch Dee. She had her meter up quite a bit but the bleed started to happen so she pulled the plug with over an $1100 win.

We went to a different part of the casino and bought in again. This time we both played triple play. Dee again had a good session hitting some quads and getting dealt winners. I was getting beat up again. I still couldn't hit a quad on a three card hold and was getting few dealt winners. Dee ended up down about $100 and I was down 3 more. My royal was almost history.

We took a lunch break and went to the buffet because there was no line at all there. Not a great buffet by any means but for lunch will do the trick. Then I realized why there was no one there. It was weekend brunch at $15 per person. No way these locals are paying that for this weak buffet. I the food coupon that came with my offer and charged the rest to the room. The buffet had breakfast and lunch items and was standard Rampart fare. Nothing really great but enough things to fill the belly.

After we ate we hit the machines again. This time we took a shot a 10 play. It wasn't bad with a few dealt winners and a few quads right away. We both hovered for most of the session. Dee landed quad aces 3 different times and had a few hands where she hit 2 or 3 quads when holding trips. I finally broke that curse too hitting quad fours holding 3. I started getting drained after that and ended up losing $200. Dee was up exactly $200 when I busted out and we quit dead even.

On the way back to the room we found Lolly playing. She stopped to talk to us and I saw she had trip sixes on her screen. I said you better hold those before you toss the hand by accident. She holds them, draws, and hits the quad. Really? I'm holding trips on 3/5/10 play and can't land one and she gets one on a single line game. I really need to steal her horseshoe!

We said good bye to Lolly because she'd be leaving early tomorrow morning and came up to the room for a short break.

After the break we headed out to Rio because we had those tickets to see WOW. No traffic on the way and we got there with plenty of time to spare. While we were waiting for the doors to open I got a text from my host saying he had the extra free play loaded to my card for last night and tonight. He's the best!

So when they opened the doors we were let in first and one of the ushers asked of Dee could go down the stairs to which the answer was no. So he wanted to relocated us to something in the back. I protested that we had front row seats and I was not going to be downgraded. I asked him if there was a ramp and he said no and the elevators sticks so he doesn't like to use it. I protested more especially since the seating chart showed Dee's seat as accessible. He called a higher up who came took us to the elevators and got us to our seats with no issue. So a huge eff you to the usher that couldn't be bothered to help Dee.

The show started and it was a cross of all of the other variety shows that play and have played in town. It had a little Splash, a little Cirque, A little Absinthe, and a little Opium. It had a little too much filler between main acts (but it was entertaining filler), and there was a bit too much prancing but overall it was a good show. Was it worth the $126 face value of these tickets had we paid for them? Not really. It's another case where at ½ off it would be a good deal but not at full value.

When we left the Rio we saw it had rained and there were some mini floods in the area. Nothing major but quite the mess. I can only imagine what it looked like over by the Linq. We made it back to Rampart with no issues.

For a late dinner we went to Promenade Cafe. Dee ordered the California Scramble and I had the hot open turkey platter. I also got a bowl of seasonal berries to go (for breakfast tomorrow).

It was back to the casino after we ate and we played 3/5 play. We were both doing well hitting quads and getting dealt winners. I finally broke the curse of the dealt trips and actually landed most of my quads holding trips. It wasn't a very exciting session as we were both hovering. I ended the session down $100 and Dee was even.

We ran my allotted free play through triple play turning the $325 into $385 cash thanks to hitting a quad and getting a few dealt winners.

When we were done with that we came up to the room and finished off another day with TV.
