Day 27

We started off the day with some pool time and then came back up here to the room to get ready for the rest of the day.

We hit the casino and played 10 Play. It started off fine but I got dealt trip queens and got no quads. I said to the machine, don't start this crap again. On the very next hand it dealt me quad aces for the $1000 hit. I plugged along and continued to do ok. Dee wasn't hitting much at all. I hit another set of aces and she busted out soon after that. I won 8 bills while she lost 3 so not a great result but we'll take it!

We moved to spin poker to take a shot and it was tough for both of us. We were both getting beat with few dealt winners and lots of hands with no pay off. Flush 4 was killing me for sure. Dee ended up getting a triple quad and got back to even and cashed out. I took a hail Mary on DDB and got a triple quad sixes and I also got back to even with this. Scratch that. I actually won $1.25.

We took a lunch break at the Clubhouse Deli. We got the Cafe Turkey and swapped out the brie with Havarti which we split. Great sandwich and it's become our go to when we need a snack.

After lunch it was back to the machines. This time we played 3/5play. Dee started off with 5 play and was getting whacked so begrudgingly switched to 3 play. I told her it could be a good thing because yesterday triple play worked out for her. In the mean time I hit aces again, and then she hit a royal on the bottom line. See, I told you it would work out! She followed that up with some aces of her own a little while later. I cashed out even and Dee punched out with a $950 victory.

We played a penny game I was watching someone play last night that looked fun. Turns out it wasn't fun and I dropped $20 and got $22 in play.

We moved to another bank of 3/5 play machines. Not much was happening here. A few quads and dealt winners to stay alive but nothing great was happening. We both cashed out even.

Today was a giveaway day and the gift was Berry Sparkling Wine. We don't drink but we would take this because we could and give it away. After I collected my 2 bottles we came to the room for a break.

Earlier today I called my uncle who lives in town and set up plans for dinner. I last saw him in December. When he got here we went to Spiedini. I tried veal Marsala again and got a beef carpaccio for an appetizer. Dee had lasagna. The Marsala was great again and will be my go to dish here from now on. Dee said her lasagna was very good. I tried and and agreed.

For dessert we were going to have the lemoncello cake but we were informed they were out. This was a bummer. Instead we got the trio which is crème brulee, cheesecake and a chocolate cake. All were good but they weren't as good as our normal choice.

We went back into the casino and my uncle who has a liking for a slot called Crystal Forest went to work. He is quite the character when he plays and it was fun watching him. He also bets max on these things so when he hits something good it's usually pretty big.

For us it was more video poker action. We tried 10 play and I was hitting a fair amount of quads. Dee wasn't hitting as many as I was but got a fair amount. Then her machines went into vacuum mode and mine started too. She lost her buy in and I got out even.

We checked on my uncle and he was in the middle of a bonus round when we got over to where he was.

We switched to 3/5 play again. I started at 5 and Dee did 3. I hit a good number of quads including aces and hit a straight flush holding queen jack. Not exactly what I was trying for but it was a good surprise. Dee was up and down and took a few hail Mary's. One of them got her a dealt straight flush. I decided to cash out with a small $100 win. Dee was going to cash out down $100 so we would be even again between us. She switched back to DDB for another hail Mary and on a single card hold popped aces with for the $500 hit. She ended up cashing out with a $400 win and $500 between us.

I ran my free play through triple play. It was one of the worst run through sessions I've ever had with lots of non paying hands. This turned the $175 into just $115 cash.

We were done playing for the day and found my uncle still playing Crystal Forest. He was getting beat up now but wasn't doing too badly considering. I hit very few bonus rounds and took a loss. We said our good byes to him and we all had a good time during the visit.

We came up to the room after this and wound down the night with the usual TV.
