Day 30
Wednesday July 18, 2018
We slept in today because it's going to be a long one. Even though we're heading home today the flight isn't until 11pm so we've got most of the day to have a little more fun before the trip comes to a close. Originally I had a flight booked for 4:10pm but that flight was changed and the clowns at American Airlines tried to give me a flight with a 5 ½ hour lay over. Uhh, no way. I called them up and got them to give me the red eye flight instead. I figured being in Vegas for an extra 6 hours was going to be better than hanging out in the Philadelphia airport for 6 hours.

I went to the pool one last time and Dee stayed back in the room and chilled while I was there.

I came back to the room, got cleaned up and started packing for the trip home.

We went to lunch at the Hawthorne Grill. They have changed the menu here again which was no big deal. They had a 45 minute lunch deal that comes with a small salad, sandwich and small dessert for $19. Today was a wedge salad, turkey sandwich and strawberry shortcake. All was good except for the lady that was just arguing with her father non stop and putting him down the whole time. Eff you to her.

We started off in the casino with 10 play. It wasn't a great session for the most part except for getting dealt 4 to a royal and scoring one more for the road.

We had enough play in for the trip so switched to quarter single line. It started out well with both of us hovering but then the vacuum turned on and we got crushed. I was sure glad we weren't playing dollars.

I found our host and got everything straightened out for this trip, last trip and next trip. He added Dee's extra free play to her card and she went to town on single line halves. It worked out pretty good when she hit aces for the $200 hit. She turned the $200 into $360 and our play was done for the trip.

We came up to the room to finish packing and to take a short break before the long trip home.

We made a quick stop at the deli to get some sandwiches for the flight home. I got the Cafe Turkey one more time. Dee got Cafe Italian.

Around 8:00 pm we were ready to rip and headed out of Rampart.

The first stop along the way was to gas up the rental car. From there it was off to the rental car center to drop off the car. This went well and there were no surprises on the bill.

From there we took the shuttle bus back to the airport. At this point reality is setting in that the trip is just about done.

We got to the American Airlines counter and we got checked in and dropped off the luggage.

Next up was the cluster eff known as security. Things here went well. Of course they'd go a lot better if people could follow simple instruction. I can say that there weren't many tools here tonight that weren't following the rules.

Once Dee got her body cavity search and was cleared we hopped on the monorail to the terminal. We found our gate and waited for the boarding process to start.

Dee was supposed to preboard but the gate agent wanted to move our seats closer up front. She got us row 11 instead of row 30. She told us we had the whole row but just before the door closed someone came for the empty seat. This was a bummer but I gave her the aisle so I wouldn't have to deal with her getting up all night.

This is flight 589 scheduled to depart at 10:58pm with a travel time of 4 hours and 46 minutes to Philly. The captain told us that the actual flight time would be 4 hours and 16 minutes.

Once every one was boarded and done trying to shove luggage that's way to big to fit into the overheads we pushed back and were on our way.

The flight itself was smooth the whole way back. I ate my sandwich then went to sleep. Before I knew it there was sun coming through the windows and we were on our final approach into Philadelphia. We landed on time and taxied to the gate.

We waited for Dee's wheelchair to come up and then we found our way to the shuttle bus that takes us to terminal F.

Once we got over to terminal F and found our gate I went over to Tony Luke's and got a cheese steak to bring home. Dee didn't want anything.

It was time to board the flight back to Newburgh and Dee pre boarded and we took our seats in row 10.

This is flight 4835 and is scheduled to leave at 9:10am with a flight time of 1 hour and 25 minutes but rarely does it take this long. The captain came on the PA and told us the actual flight time would be 33 minutes.

The flight departed on time and we were on our way. The flight itself was smooth.

We landed in Newburgh and taxied to the terminal. Dee's chair was ready and we were able to get off fairly quickly. From there it was on to baggage claim. As small as this airport is it seems to take a little too long for the luggage to come out considering this plane only holds about 40 people and most of those carry on. There seemed to be a lot of douche bags in and outside the airport today too as another plane had arrived shortly before ours from another airline and the parking lot and drive lanes were a cluster eff.

After the bag came out I found a place for Dee to sit and I walked down to the plant to fetch the car. A quick drive back to the terminal to pick up Dee and we were on our way.

On the way home I made a few stops to get some groceries and to pick the a month's worth of mail.

With all of that done we pulled into the driveway at 12:30 pm as this trip came to an end.
