Day 2
Thursday December 27, 2018

I was amazingly up before 8am this morning despite not getting to bed until 3am. I figured I'd get my day started by working on this report and e-mailing people back home that I had made it here alive.

The first order of business was to hit the machines here at the Golden Nugget. Their VP sucks here but they have a few machines that I consider fair enough to play in order to get room offers here. Sadly when I got to the area of my games were gone. I went in search of those games with no luck. They were just gone replaced by single line machines with even worse pay tables. This left very little option for me so I decided on dollar triple play. I don't like this option but it turned out ok. No major hits other than hitting quad aces playing jacks. I stopped with an $85 win but then realized these machines take $25 per point.

I finished up my play on a 100 play machine for quarters playing only 20 lines. This wasn't very good and I lost $285.

I ran my $15 free play through a nickel Texas Tea machine. Things were good. I hit 4 bonus rounds and turned the $15 into $32.

After putting in my nominal play here I went over to the Four Queens. I have a mail offer here for $200 in free play and Dee's offer is for $300. I'd be trying to get the action in on both cards today so in consideration of time I chose the 50 plays.

The play was up and down but no major hits. I did manage one set of deuces but that would be all.

While I was playing Yahtzee Mike arrived. We both played for a while and then it was lunch time. I cashed out close to even for the session and was happy with that.

For lunch we both went to Magnolia's Veranda. I went with my favorite bowl of gumbo with a side of rice. Great as always. I also had a spinach chicken salad with strawberries, dried apricots, candied walnuts and blue cheese. It was good but the chicken appeared pre cooked and microwaved to be reheated.

We went back to the machines when we were done eating. Things weren't good this time around. I fed in bill after bill going many hands without seeing any deuces. I had my play in and was down $662.

I wrapped up my play here at the Four Queens. I ran my free play through quarter jacks and turned my $200 it into $150 in a pretty nasty round with only one full house and no quads, flushes or straights.

It was time to head out of the downtown area and onto the next hotel. The ride out to Summerlin was smooth sailing and I'd be checking in at Rampart for the next week. I booked this through my host here back in the summer. I've also got a mail offer for $525 free play and $20 food. I've also got a birthday food offer of $60.

Check in was quick and I was in the Palms Tower in a Junior Suite 2243. I drove around to the tower and threw my things in the room. This room is one large room. The living room area has a sectional sofa, coffee table, end table, dresser and dining table and chairs. The bedroom area has a king bed with nightstands. There is a central entertainment center in the middle of the room with a flat screen TV in it. There are 2 bathrooms. One is a handicap accessible with roll in shower and safety bars. The main bathroom has a toilet room with a bidet, shower stall, whirlpool bathtub and dual sink vanity. There is also a huge walk in closet.

On the way to the casino. I stopped by to see my host. He set up a second room for me for Mike. I hung out here for a few minutes and then went and got checked into that room.

I found Mike in the casino and we went in search of some machines to play. We decided on 10 play. I played quarters. I was doing quite well. No major hits but enough well timed quads to stay alive. After 5k in action I was up over $100 and cashed out so we could go to dinner.

I had reservations for 6pm at the Hawthorne Grill so I could use my food vouchers before they expired at the end of the day. I had a 6oz filet and a baked potato. Mike had a wedge salad and scallops. Over all it was a good meal. The total bill was $111. I used my $80 in vouchers and charged the balance to the room.

Over fed and full we went back to the casino. This time around things weren't very good. I wasn't getting the dealt winners and quads needed to stay alive. On 9k I lost another $500.

I decided to wrap up the night by running my allotted free play through single line 8/5 bonus for halves. It was not good with no hands better than 2 pair except for one three of a kind. I turned the $175 into just $115.

It wasn't that late but I was beat so came to the room to relax for a while with some TV and then went to bed.

Total win/loss for the day - $950
Total Comps for the day $970
Total Coin - In for the day $29,665
