Day 5

I got up early today to start my day. It was started off with in room breakfast again and then it was time to get cleaned up and off to the casino.

I haven't been playing my normal levels and the plan was to catch up today because it's double points for video poker.

I started off with 10 play and it was decent. I wasn't hitting a lot of big stuff but the smaller hits were keeping me alive. I got a fair amount of straights, flushes and full houses. Early on, about 5 minutes into the session I was dealt RF 3 and drew the dreaded king high straight flush.

During the whole session I'd go through pockets where I'd start bleeding going 2-3 hands in a row with no pay off at all. Then I'd get dealt a winner or 2. I came out of one bad spell hitting aces on back to back hands. This got me back into it. After those hits I hovered for quite a while +/- $100 or so before another bad spell. That's when I get dealt trip aces and popped 'em on 3 lines.

From there things remained good. They got even better when I was dealt RF 4 and landed my first royal of the trip on line #10. I played a bit longer and nothing major happened. I cashed out with a $1280 win for the session on exactly 20k in action. The only reason I even cashed out was because I had to pee really bad and I was getting hungry for lunch.

A few things to note about this session was the lack of bonus quads I hit. In total I hit 29 quads and only 7 of them were bonus quads. There were also 6 sets of aces. Another interesting stat was the amount of trips I was dealt that didn't connect into a quad. 30 times was a bit annoying. I did connect on trips 16 times with one of those hitting 2 quads and another was the hand where I hit 3 sets of aces.

For lunch I went to the buffet. I don't like this buffet for dinner but for lunch it works for me. I didn't want to over eat this afternoon because I had dinner plans later tonight. I did though.

After lunch I went back to the machines again. This time around I tried some Spin Poker. Things were pretty good here. I hit multi line quads a few times along with getting dealt some flushes and full houses. I was going through some spurts where I was getting no payoffs at all and those hurt. Luckily the quads kept coming. Again no quads were of the bonus variety and none were aces. I was up just over $500 but went through another one of those pockets with no winners so I cashed out with a $300 win. It's been a pretty good day so far and it's looking like it will be the first winning day of the trip.

I came up to the room to rest for a while and get caught up on some e-mails followed by a short nap before dinner.

My uncle came up tonight and we went to dinner at Spiedini. I had my usual Beef Carpaccio as an appetizer. They have a new menu since last time I was here so I tried the Chicken Lemone. It's chicken breast with egg batter sauteed in a lemon wine sauce. It also came with garlic spinach and a small side of pasta. The food was excellent tonight.

When we were done with dinner we hit the casino. My uncle wanted to watch me play. I hit a 10 play machine and he was interested. I set him up next to me and guided each play. He wasn't doing well so decides to bump up to halves and I have him hold a double inside straight flush. Wouldn't you know it, he hits one. He played a bit longer and then went in search of slots.

I continued to play and hovered for a while. I hit a few quads including aces but the dealt winners just weren't happening. I started a fast bleed and got out with a $320 loss.

I went in search of my uncle and found him playing slots. He's out of control with these things and he's not afraid to make a bet. He was doing well for a while and we machine hopped. He's got all sorts of odd beliefs about these machines (they're not true) but for some reason keeps playing them. He's as entertaining to watch play as the games are to play. After about 6 hours of slots he finally gave up and went home.

I made a quick stop at the Promenade Cafe. They have a bunch of late night specials for $2.99 and I got one. I chose the grilled cheese and cup of tomato soup. It was tasty and did the trick.

I finally came up here and went to bed at around 4am!
