Day 7
Tuesday January 1, 2019
Happy New Year

Well, it's 2019. I started off the new year with some breakfast in the room and getting caught up on e-mails.

Next up I got a text from Jimbo. He and Katy were scheduled to come to town next week but he came in a few days early to hang out with me for a few days. We spent some time getting caught up and then went to lunch.

Lunch today was at the Promenade Cafe. I had the grilled cheese with bacon and a bowl of the tomato basil soup. This is one of my favorite lunches here and didn't disappoint.

After lunch we hit the machines. I played 10 play and on my first hand got dealt a full house. That was a good start but after that I pretty much got my ass kicked. I did hit 2 straight flushes during the session. One was the dreaded king high version (but I held the 9) and the other was the ultra dreaded A2345. Even with those premium hits I got whacked and dropped 5 bills on just 7k in action.

Jimbo had to head out and get checked in at his hotel. He is staying next door at Suncoast.

I went in search of another machine and proceeded to get my ass kicked again only getting 3k in action and dropping another 5 bills. This day was turning to shit really quickly.

I was going to take a break but decided to take a pot shot at $2 single line hoping to just hit a quad. Not only did I hit a quad in about 25 hands it was quad aces for $800! I promptly cashed out and went from being down $1000 to only being down $200.

I took a break and came up tot he room to rest for a while and watched some TV.

Around 6pm I headed out of Rampart and over to Suncoast to meet up with Jimbo. We went to dinner at their Asian restaurant called Peng Zu. I had the BBQ pork noodles with bok choy. It was good and I'd get it again if I was ever here again. The prices were also reasonable with both of us eating for $22. Jimbo paid the bill with his points. Thanks for Dinner Jimbo.

After dinner we made plans for tomorrow and I came back here to Rampart. I hit the casino and the 10 plays again. This machine picked up where they left off this afternoon. I was getting killed and after losing $200 I moved over to the machine next to it.

Things were a little better here with a few quads and some straight flushes. The bleed started and I took a hail Mary on double – double bonus and managed to hit a quad. I switched back to bonus poker and things were looking a little better with a good number of quads and dealt winners. I finally hit some aces too. The highlight of the session came when I hit my second royal flush of the trip on a 3 card hold.

Things continued to be good with more quads including another set of aces and a few more dealt winners. I managed to get the meter up over $1600 and the plan was to quit if it dropped down to $1500 and lock up the profits. I got a little bit more play in and cashed out exactly at $1500 even. I had more than enough play in for the day so came upstairs a winner for the day thanks to the royal.

I wrapped up the night with some TV and then went to bed.

Total win/loss for the day $800
Total Comps for the day $236
Total Coin - In for the day $21,325
