Day 9
Thursday January 3, 2019

Well, today it's over. I'm flying out to go home but not until this evening.

I slept in and finished packing up and getting ready for the trip home.

My first stop when I left was over to Arizona Charlie's Decatur. Dee has a dividend offer which is pretty much deferred cash back and I needed to swipe for her so she would get that. I ran in, took care of that and ran out.

I left Arizona Charlie's and went to the Rio. I needed to get some play in to keep mine and Dee's points active for another 6 months.

My first stop was the Sports Book Deli for lunch. I got chicken tenders and a soda. The price for this was $18.50 but I have more than enough comps at Caesars properties to cover this. I would never pay this much money for this meal. I can say that you get 5 “fingers” but each one is the size of a small chicken breast. Easily enough for 2 people to have a light lunch of. You also get dipping sauce and carrot sticks and celery stalks.

Now it was time to play. I played 8/5 bonus for dollars and it was a disaster. I had planned on giving them a solid day of play but after about 4k I was down nearly a grand. This wasn't exactly the way I wanted to end the trip. I was getting a whole lot of nothing. Oddly flush four was quite friendly. The main problem this session was going 15-20 hands with no winners. Getting a pair of jacks or 2, then another 15 hands with no winners. I'd get a full house for 40 coins and then lose the next 10 hands. Another thing I noticed is I was hitting an abundance of trips (that was about all I hit) that would also be quick quads if I had been playing that game.

I cashed out of the $1 game and went in search of a Quick Quads game. I knew I probably wouldn't hit a single one and they are all short pay but I just wanted to hit one or 2 just for fun. I found a 10 play version and started playing. It wasn't too bad. I never did hit a quick quad but I did get myself a dealt bonus quad for $750. I played a bit longer and cashed out with a nice win on this machine and amazingly got out of the day down only $100.

Next up I had $30 in free play. I decided to play slots on Dee's card just to keep her points alive. No major hits and only one bonus round. I turned the $30 free play into $20 cash.

I left the Rio and went to the bank. This was no walk of shame either. I like these trips.

Next up I went over to M where Jimbo moved to earlier today. The plan here was to run some play, collect my $75 free play and eat dinner at their buffet.

I wanted to get the play done quickly so I decided to play 10 play deuces but couldn't find one. The single line jacks machines were all full as usual. Instead I played 5 play. I couldn't seem to hit a thing. I got quite a few wild royals but they weren't enough to stay alive. I ended up running ½ of what I had planned (5k) so my offers will probably drop for sure.

Next I played some blackjack with Jimbo. I kept the bets low to preserve bankroll. I got on a decent run getting up about $100. We decided on one more deck and I lost all but one hand losing that $100 and cashing out even. I'll take it.

We hit the buffet for dinner and it was pretty much the same it always is. It's good but not as great as it used to be but it is pretty consistent. I had 2 buffets on my offer so used those to cover the bill. They were running the seafood buffet until Sunday so the price of this was $42 per person.

After dinner I ran my free play through quarter jacks and turned the $75 into $70.

I left M and went to gas up the car. The next stop was the car facility to return the car. This went really well.

From here it was onto the shuttle to the airport. Tonight I'm flying on American Airlines on a ticket that I bought way back in the summer for just $139 one way right back into Newburgh with a stop in Philly.

Checking in went well except for the people that don't know WTF they are doing with a kiosk. Security was pretty good except for the lady trying to smuggle liquids through. Then she acts like TSA is in the wrong for detaining her.

I found my gate and waited to board.

Originally this was a different flight but good old American Airlines once again changed it. They also changed my seating from window & aisle to aisle and middle in the middle section of the plane. The original plane was a 3/3 set up. This much larger plane is a 2/3/2 set up.

This is flight 2380 with service to Philly. It's scheduled to take over 5 hours but they came on the PA and told us it would take 4:05. This is when the problem hit. The little motor that starts the jet engines wasn't working. They had to get maintenance on board to fix it and then test it. We were supposed to leave at 10:44pm and didn't leave until almost 1am. I was actually hoping they were going to cancel the flight so I could get an extra day or 2 in town. No luck there. They got it fixed and we were off

The flight itself wasn't bad at all. I passed the time with sleep and playing on my tablet. The back of the plane was pretty empty so everyone had plenty of space to stretch out.

We landed in Philly and taxied for a while, I had a 3 hour lay over which turned into less than 1 hour after the delay in Las Vegas. I made my way to the shuttle because my connection is in terminal F. This took a while because I was all of the way at the end of terminal A, had to walk to the front of terminal A and then get on the bus to terminal F. I didn't even have the time to get a Philly Cheese steak at Tony Luke's.

After a short wait we boarded the plane. This is flight 4835 with service into Stewart – Newburgh. I was in row 9. We left and the flight which was scheduled to take 1:05 only took 37 minutes. We landed in Newburgh on time.

I went to baggage claim and waited for the suitcase to come out and then took the walk down to the plant to get my car.

After a few stops along the way I pulled into my drive way at 12:30pm and another Las Vegas trip came to a close. (I'm still a registered guest at the Rio).
