Day 7
Friday June 21, 2019
I was up super early today. Like the other day my flight is at 7:15am. I got ready and off I went. First stop was to fill up the gas tank on the rental. Holy shit, $4.39/gallon. Luckily this car was good on gas.

Next up was to the airport and the rental car return went well at Hertz.

Next was checking in for the flight at Southwest and dropping off the luggage. Again like a few days ago I forgot to check in and I was even on the computer at check in time yesterday. I remembered to do it a few hours later and got a B boarding pass.

Security was a total cluster fuck. Not sure why but the line just to get to TSA before security was a 20+ minute wait. The line snaked through most of the waiting area. Once through TSA security was fine and I was off to the gate.

We boarded and as always people can't follow simple instruction. When I got on there were still some aisle seats so I grabbed on of those. This is flight 1790 non stop to Las Vegas. We were scheduled to depart at 7:15am and arrive in Vegas at 8:30am. With a 75 minute flight time. The captain came on the PA and said it would be just 55 minutes. The flight was smooth and I watched TV on their free entertainment for the flight.

We landed and it was one of the smoothest landings I've ever had. We taxied to the gate and I was on my way to baggage claim. The suitcase was already out when I got there and I was off to the rental car shuttle.

Today's rental is with Alamo. For some reason car rates were sky high for this leg of the trip. I booked this back in April for $150/week base for a standard SUV. I didn't need an SUV but it was actually cheaper than everything else with exception of the economy so I went with it. Rates for the next 2 months didn't move except for up.

I checked in at the kiosk and was on my way to the cars in a few minutes. I chose a GMC Acadia. It has 18,000 miles on it and was in very good condition. It's got all of the bells and whistles but the satellite radio wasn't activated which was a bummer. But it's got blue tooth so I used my phone to sync up and used the SiriusXM app to listen.

I made a quick stop at Maverick on Warm Springs to get a cold beverage for the ride and then I was off to Laughlin. The construction is done on 95 and it was a nice ride the whole way. I rolled in around 11am and saw Happy Anniversary James and Dee D on the new Aquarius Marquee out front. Dee also had a birthday greeting up there too.

I went to VIP to check in and the room was ready. I booked this through my host using my offer and 2 extra nights through her. I also have $380 free play and another $100 for our anniversary from my host. Dee has $95 free play, $100 anniversary free play and 25,000 birthday points. My host came in to see me and the first thing she asked was where is Dee? I had to break the news to her which was no fun.

Since our last visit here they changed the players club a little bit. I swiped at the kiosk and activated Dee's free play and her daily multiplier. She got 3x which is what she always got under the old system.

I swiped my card and got 3x as well which was an x down from normal. My host said I should still average 4x so hopefully one of these days I'll get something higher. I also activated my free play and printed my Cove/Duet vouchers for free food and drinks.

I grabbed my stuff out of the car and got settled into the room. This is a 5 night stay so I was able to unpack and get a little more organized which felt good.

I ran over to Bullhead City for a a quick lunch at Jack in the Box. A junior bacon cheese burger and 2 tacos did the trick. I can't believe I've been in town for a week and this is the first time I've had Jack in the Box. I paid the $4 bill using a gift card I got from Yahtzee Mike. Thanks for lunch Mike.

Next up was a stop at 99¢ Only for some things and then back to the Aquarius.

It was finally time to play. I started off with 10 play back at the video poker bar area in the back of the casino. Today I'd start off on Dee's card. Once I started playing I wished I hadn't started at all. This was the session from hell. I was hitting a good number of quads but that seemed like all I was hitting. I blew through 5 bills and reloaded. It continued just as bad and I blew through another 5. Then another 5. I didn't have swings like this playing quarter 50 play a few days ago. By the time I was done playing 20k in action I had dropped $1635 in one of my worst ever sessions of 10 play. I was in disbelief that I could lose that much playing this game.

I ran Dee's free play through single line quarters and in another terrible run turned her $195 into $150 cash. I also cashed in $150 worth of her points and ran that through. This time around wasn't quite as bad but still only cashed $123.

I took a dinner break over at the Cove to use some of my vouchers. I was disappointed to see they changed the menu since my last visit and my favorite steak salad was no longer on the menu. I opted for a pizza with sausage and pepperoni well done. Nothing special here and it did the trick. I only ate half along with a basket of potato chips so took the rest to the room.

I went outside to take picture of the marquee with Dee's birthday and our anniversary and then came back in to play a little on my card. I chose 10 play again. This session was a little better than earlier. I hit my first set of aces and then 2 more later on. I had a few more dealt winners this time around. I was actually up around $350 at my high point but then one of those rough patches came by and took most of it away. I cashed out after doing 10k in action with a $56 win. I could barely keep my eyes open at this point so I decided to wait until tomorrow to run my free play.

I came up to the room and crashed minutes after I hit the pillow.
