Day 23

I was up really early and wide awake for some reason. I decided it would be a good day to get out of here for a few hours and take care of a few things.

First up was a stop at Rio. I am one day of play away from having enough points to become Seven Stars so decided I'd suffer through more short pay crap to make it happen. The perks will be more than worth it for the next 18 months or so.

I started off with quarter 10 play Quick Quads. The session started off good with a few ups and downs but nothing too extreme either way. I hit a big hand with 3 bonus quick quads. From there it got really bad though. I started losing at a record pace. I wasn't even getting anything to hold. I cashed out at 15k in action down over $600.

I moved to 50 play even though the pay tables are horrid hoping to smooth out a bit. No luck there. Still wasn't getting anything to hold. Dropped another 3 bills.

I saw a slot machine that looked fun and I saw a lot of people getting bonus rounds on last week when I was staying here so I took a shot. I hit a bonus round for about $180. I played a bit more and cashed out with a $100 win.

I was getting close to having the points I needed so played some really awful deuces game but did land a set of deuces to stay alive but still dropped another $100.

I decided to finish up the play I'd go cash in some reward credits and got $500 in free play. This was actually from the 100x multiplier I got in Laughlin. I ran the free play through 7/5 bonus 10 play. Thanks to a set of aces and a set of threes I turned the $500 free play into $578. I needed a few more points so dropped to five play for the final few points and lost just $15 in the process.

In total I got out of there down less than $400.

I left the Rio and went over to Westgate to the Superbook to make some sports bets for the guys at work. I wasn't there long and headed back up here to Rampart.

I met up with Jimbo & Katy for lunch. We got some sandwiches at the deli. For some reason my order took almost 30 minutes to come out. Mainly because someone forgot to make it. The manager gave me a free bag of chips.

After lunch we hit the machines. I didn't do well getting my ass kicked with no major hits, dropping over 5 bills on only 9k in action. I decided to take a break in the room for a while and rest up a bit since I was up so early.

Around 5pm I got a text that my aunt and uncle were here so I ran downstairs to meet up with them. From there we went to meet Jimbo & Katy and Albert for dinner at the Hawthorn Grill. I had a NY strip and side of mashed potatoes. The food was excellent and we all had a good time.

After dinner we took some pictures and said good bye to Albert. He was going to wrap up his night and was heading to Laughlin tomorrow. The rest of us went to the casino. The first thing I did was go to the kiosk to print some vouchers for free wine. I gave that to my aunt and she was happy.

Next it was time to play. This session was simply outstanding for all 3 of us. I was dealt a bonus quad and from there kept the meter growing with more quads, more dealt winners and 3-4 sets of aces. Katy hit a royal and got a dealt quad and Jimbo went on a quad tear.

My aunt and uncle left to head home and we kept playing. Things started to tank so I cashed out with over $700 in winnings.

Next I went to the players club to have a couple of vouchers for free play added to my account for $125.

I decided to play a little bit on spin poker. Pretty flat session +/- $100 the whole time with only 1 quad hit the whole session. I cashed out down about $100.

I finished the night up running the $125 free play through DW44 with progressives for the royal and deuces. No major hits and turned the $125 into $120 to finish the night.

I came up to the room and started getting things cleaned up and packed up for the flight home in a few days.
