Day 25
Tuesday July 9, 2019
I was up early and got ready to head out. Everything was packed.

I checked e-mails and fight status and everything was good. I also played the Rampart online game and scored another $100 free play. I also won $50 food. I couldn't leave it behind so when the players club opened at 8am I would go redeem it.

It was still a little early so I grabbed a breakfast sandwich at Starbucks while I waited.

After I ate the club was open and I got the $100 added to my account. Hoping for some last minute thunder I ran it through dollar single line. No luck with the thunder but I had enough paying hands to turn the $100 into $90 cash.

On the way back to the room I stopped at valet so they could grab the car while I ran up to the room to get the bags. A few minutes later I was back and I got the car from the valet.

I took a drive and stopped at the bank. It wasn't a walk of shame, just a stop to put some cash in so I didn't have to travel with it.

Next up because I hadn't done it at all this trip I took a drive down the strip. Lots going on there and it's always changing.

I stopped and gassed up at Chevron near Sunset Rd to use the gift card I got way back on day 1. Conveniently there's also a Jack in the Box right next door so it was an opportunity for one last order of tacos.

From there it was off to the rental car facility. Returning was fine and everything was in order. I met up with Jimbo and Katy who just returned their car as well and we hopped on the shuttle back to the airport.

When I got to the airport the check in area was slow. I booked this flight back in April using miles. Originally it was supposed to be an earlier flight but it was changed.

I got checked in and then headed over to security. United had a special security area in terminal 3 that had very limited hours but was open. We flew through there.

Jimbo had club membership so got all of us into the United Club. We had some snacks and hung out for just a little while and they had to go to catch their flight. I stayed here for a lot longer because my flight doesn't board until 3:05 pm.

I left the lounge and headed to the gate and waited for boarding to start. I was in the priority boarding group thanks to my United credit card.

This is flight 2271 scheduled to depart at 3:43pm non stop to Newark scheduled to arrive at 11:54pm with a 5 hour and 11 minute flight time. The captain came on and told us it was only going to take 4:41.

The flight was smooth. I passed the time watching content on my phone and sleeping. Before I knew it we were back in Newark.

We landed and and taxied to the gate. Once off the plane I went to baggage claim. As always, baggage claim sucks in Newark and 30 minutes after I got there the bags started coming out. Keep in mind I was one of the last people off the plane and stopped at the rest room on the way there. This is way too long for luggage to show up. I eventually got my suitcase and was off to the air train to the Avis rental car lot.

This was another cluster fuck because 1 of the trams is down so they have 3 running on one track. Then you have to get off of one tram and onto another to get to the car lots after already waiting way too long for the initial tram. I swear every time I fly through Newark there's some sort of issue with these monorails.

I got to the Avis lot and my name was up on the board with spot C 32. I booked this car back in January and got a mid sized for $77 base and $112 all in. It was a little bit high but it was still cheaper than anything else. I was assigned a Dodge Journey with 28,888 miles on it. I checked it over and was on my way.

The ride home was long but uneventful.

I pulled into my drive way at 1:45am and yet another Las Vegas trip was officially over.
