Day 4
Monday December 16, 2019
Up early to day and have a busy day planned. Today I'll be going downtown to play at the Four Queens. I have a mailer for $300 in free play. Dee also has the same mailer. They are also running a promo for $10 in free play if you earn 100 points.

As I got on my way I realized I left my phone in the room. This meant one of two things. Someone was going to try to get in touch with me and I'd miss it and/or I was going to hit something good and wouldn't get a picture of it.

When I got to the Four Queens I decided to play the 50/100 plays with shorter pay tables as opposed to playing single line jacks.

I started off playing bonus deuces on my card. I thought the tone for the day was set when I got dealt 4 to a wild royal and didn't hit any on the 50 lines. But then, I was right about not having the phone. I didn't even have 100 points on my card when I got dealt 4 deuces. I pulled 3 hands with the kicker for a $2650 hand pay.

I was now worried that since I hit it so early in my ply that there was a lot of time to lose it all, especially with my luck at this place. Things were pretty smooth except for a short period where I couldn't hit anything. A few dealt winners including a straight flush and a couple of quads got me back to even (minus the hand pay). Then I hit a royal for $200 and was up over $300. I had 200 points to go on my play and then the vacuum turned on. During this final stretch I dropped over 4 bills.

By the time I was done with my play I was down $125. Add in the deuces money and I finished the session with a $2525 win!

I took a break and went to lunch at Magnolia's Veranda. It was closed for maintenance but they were running a limited menu down in Hugo's Cellar. The service was awful down here. I'm guessing because of the new location they are working out of. Ten minutes to be seated, 15 minutes before someone took my order and another 15 or so before the food came. I ordered my usual gumbo. It was back to normal unlike this past summer when it was different every time I had it.

Next up I switched to Dee's card and again played the 50/100 plays. This time I tried 100 play but the lower paying 7/5 bonus. No major hits or dealt winners and it was a smooth ride. I got the play through and managed a $76 win on her card.

I ran Dee's free play though dollar 9/6 jacks and thanks to a few full houses cashed it out at $300 cash.

I decided to run my $300 free play the same way. I turned the $300 into $500. Thanks to a few full houses and a quad on my next to last hand.

Afterwards I went to the players club to have the $10 free play bonus added to my account and to get my parking validated.

I ran the $10 free play through Dee's favorite bank of machines where the jackpot is a car. At $1.80 a spin this wasn't going to take long. But I hit 1600 coins a few times and 800 a few times as well. I cashed out of this machine with $40.

Next I ran over to Golden Nugget and ran some free play through on Dee's card. This will kill her offers but I can't use them anyway. I turned the $50 free ply into $60 cash on a nickel Texas Tea.

The next move was over to the D to do the same. She had $75 free play here. I ran it through 50¢ 8/5 bonus and got crushed turning the $75 into just $40 cash.

I left downtown and took a trip to the bank This wasn't the walk of shame but to make a deposit courtesy of the Four Queens. This was a mess. There were 15 people in line and 1 teller. Then the computer froze and had to be rebooted. I finally got that done and my 30 second transaction got done after 45 minutes in line. I was not a happy person.

From the bank I went to the Pinball Hall of Fame. This is always fun but as time goes on the machines here are just getting beat to shit and aren't getting the proper care they need. Many machines are turned off and almost every game I played had some type of problem.

I came back to Flamingo and walked over to Bally's for dinner. I had a reservation for 4 people at BLT Steak at Bally's. I'd be meeting Norm, Jimbo & Katy here tonight. Katy didn't come because she wasn't feeling well. None of us have ever been here before and a 7* trip was a good excuse to go. I ordered the ribeye and a side of creamed spinach. My appetizer was a squash soup that was excellent. For dessert I had a chocolate tart that wasn't very good.

The total bill was $366. I used some celebration vouchers to cover the first 3 bills and room charged the rest. When the server brought the final bill it was for almost $700. WTF? This isn't my bill! She took care of it and fixed everything.

We all left here stuffed and went our own ways. I stopped over at Paris to see Ned the Dealer for a while and then came back to the Flamingo. I had to run my airfare reimbursement free play through something. I picked some aborted deuces wild schedule. It wasn't going well and I was down about $250 on the $1200 in action and on my very last hand hit quad deuces and cashed out up $3.

I also had $70 in free play from my offer. I played a bunch of penny games with very little luck turning the $70 into $20. Welcome to playing slots on the strip.

Next up I played some blackjack. A decent session but couldn't get to a point where I really pressed my bets. The dealer was pulling hot for a while. Luckily I had a small pocket where I was on a hot streak and got up $350. Another dealer hot streak took me down to $225 and I cashed out $215 after tipping the dealer.

I wrapped up the evening packing up for tomorrow's move and watching TV.
