Day 8

I slept in a bit and took it easy up in the room for a while before going downstairs. I met up with Jimbo & Katy and then stopped to see my host to show her the tribute video I made for Dee and to book a February visit along with tickets to see KISS at the Laughlin Events Center.

I swiped my card at the kiosk for today's multiplier and got the dreaded 2x on video poker and 3x on tables and slots.

Next up was some video poker action and it was just bad. No hits at all and dropped 5 bills on 5k in action.

We took a lunch break and went to the Cafe to get an order to go but got totally ignored so walked out. Instead we went to McDonald's where they had a Big Mac on special 2/$6. Yup, I paid for food. We brought the food up to the suite and ate in the dining room.

After lunch we walked over to the Riverside to check out the Classic Car and slot machine collection over there. In all of the years I've been coming to Laughlin I've never done this. With a Riverside players card it's a free attraction. If you don't have a card it's just $2.

We came back to the Aquarius and another round of VP was in order. Another round of losing was also in order. I managed to hit 2 sets of aces but those would be the only quads I'd hit the whole time. Dropped another 5 bills on this machine on only 5k in action again.

I moved over to try out some Super Times Pay. This was a little better to start with quads coming fairly often but very few multiplier. Then when I'd get a multiplier I'd be lucky to even get my bet back. It just wasn't working out today. Another $500 was gone but this time only got me 4k in play.

We made dinner plans for later on so I took a shot at the old games me and Dee used to play with airport deuces Spin Poker with Super Times Pay. I was having the same issue here as on the regular quarter version with very few multipliers and few hits on them. I dropped 3 bills here on less than 2k in action.

For dinner we went to Cafe Aquarius. I ordered the open faced roast beef. It was good stuff and filled the void.

Even though my ass was kicked I took one more shot at the machines. I was having a fairly smooth session but couldn't seem to get many dealt winners and quads were not happening. I had only hit one the whole time I was playing. The bleed started again until I was dealt the dreaded king high straight flush. The funny thing about the dealt straight flush is not 10 minutes earlier I was telling Jimbo & Katy that I had never gotten dealt a straight flush on 10 play. I'll have to mention that about a royal tomorrow. I continued to pound away but just couldn't get much of anything going. I decided to cash out with a $300 win just to have a winning session and to lower my overall losses for the day.

With almost my normal level of play in I decided to wrap it up and call it a night. Between the losses and only having a 2x multiplier today, there was really no reason to go on.

I came up to the room to watch TV and surf the net for a while and then went to bed.
