Day 10
Sunday December 22, 2019
I got up this morning and had a quick breakfast in the room with the pastry I grabbed last night.

I got everything together and headed out of the Aquarius. I don't normally leave this early but I wanted to get back up to Las Vegas.

The ride back was long and boring.

Today's move is all of the way out to Summerlin and J.W. Marriott and Rampart casino. I booked this through my host back in the summer. I'm booked here for the next 6 nights but will only be staying for 5 (well maybe 5 ½). My host set my up with a junior suite. I also have a mail offer for $900 in free play (split over 3 days) and $40 in food. This is almost double the free play I usually get and I have no idea why it spiked like this but I'm glad it did. I already have my mailer for the next quarter and it dropped back to what I normally get.

I knew it would be too early to check in I've never ever been able to check in here before 2-3pm. So what to do? Hit the casino of course. The reason I left Laughlin so early was to get up here to attack their 2x points promo. I decided to start off with single line dollars. This was a bust and I dropped $100 and barely $100 in action.

I switched to 10 play quarters and things were better. I hit a bunch of bonus quads, regular quads, a straight flush and got dealt a few full houses and straights. I was up 3 bills and decided it would be a good time to try to check in.

My room wasn't ready but Rob the front desk agent found one that was. I was assigned room 2243 in the Palms tower. I also went to fetch the car and drove it to the valet.

This room is one large room. The living room area has a sectional sofa, coffee table, end table, dresser and dining table and chairs. The bedroom area has a king bed with nightstands. There is a central entertainment center in the middle of the room with a flat screen TV in it. There are 2 bathrooms. One is a handicap accessible with roll in shower and safety bars. The main bathroom has a toilet room with a bidet, shower stall, whirlpool bathtub and dual sink vanity. There is also a huge walk in closet.

I came to the room and got settled in and had a light lunch of leftovers from previous meals. I also took a nap for about an hour.

Now feeling good it was time to hit the casino again. I played some 10 play again this time around and it was a pretty good session. No major hits other than one set of aces and a straight flush to start the session. Everything else was, as Dee would have called it, stuff. Ran over 10k and finished up another $300 and took a dinner break.

For dinner I went to newly remodeled buffet. I have to say the room is very nice but the new seating area that used to be Shizen and the hallway leading to it is a long was from the food. As far as the food goes I can say it's been upgraded from the previous version o the buffet but it's still not great. I'd rate it passable and probably a notch or 2 below anything Stations offers. One thing I liked was the TVs stationed around the dining area. I was able to watch the Golden Knights play San Jose.

After dinner I went to the sports book to watch more of the game. The Knights led 1-0 going into the 2nd intermission.

During intermission I went back to the machines. It was another good session with no major hits and as the 3rd period was starting I cashed out up over $200. If only every day went like this.

I went back to the sports book to watch the 3rd period and they Knight pulled it out with a 3-1 win.

I played more video poker after the game. This time it was good to start. It was very similar to the previous session today with no major hits but rather lots of small stuff. I had the meter up to a $300 profit but that's when it got a little rough. Not much of anything was hitting and to add insult I got dealt RF4 5 different times during this session and didn't score a single royal. I decided to give up with a $300 loss which was over a $500 swing from my high point.

I finished up the evening by running today's allotted free play through dime airport deuces. I turned the $300 into $275 cash with nothing special along the way.

Since I was up quite a bit today and it was 5x on slots I took a shot at some penny games. Not a good move and dropped around $50 and didn't get much action out of it and only one bonus round on some new Buffalo variant.

I came up to the room when I was done with slots and another day was in the books.

Total Win/Loss for the day: $649
