Day 12

Today I was actually up early. I started off with a quick breakfast at Starbucks.

I met up with Jimbo and we hit the machines. Not much happening here and I dropped about $100 on 7k.

For lunch Norm came over and we found him playing right behind us. While everyone got cashed out I played a few hands of Spin Poker and dropped just $7.

We hit the buffet for lunch on the special senior day and $5 buffets. Like the other day the buffet here has been improved but it's still not something I'd tell people to make a special trip for. For $5 though, it's a good deal.

After lunch I was back at the machines. This was not a good session and I dropped 4 bills on only 4k in action. Very few hits and nothing to even hold on the deals.

We took a short break and then went back to it again. This started out good with some quads and aces and dealt winners and I was up over $300 and then it turned on me and I blew through all the profits and another hundred on top of it. I was not amused.

I took a break up in the room and got a text from Yahtzee Mike letting me know he was here. We all met up at Jimbo & Katy's room and hung out for a while before dinner.

For dinner I had reservations for 6 people at Spiedini, the Italian restaurant here at Rampart.

I ordered my usual beef carpaccio and chicken lemone. It's chicken breast dipped in lemon egg batter with capers in a butter sauce + capellini pasta. Back home we'd call this chicken francese. I have to say it was good but not great. Too little chicken and too much pasta and not enough sauce. We also had the worst service I've ever had here. The waiter was not having a good day. The salads arrived after the entrees, 2 people were going to split an entree and he didn't split it, and we asked for the check to be split 3 & 3. Real easy too, right in order of how we ordered. He got none of it right. I personally fired him 3 different times! I also fired the busboy for various infractions. When the manager came over to see how things were we let her know and she was shocked. She took all of the salads off the bill and gave us some free desserts. On the way out she also said if we came back she's personally take care of us.

After dinner it was off to the casino for the 7pm drawing. We all went up to the front where they do the drawing. When they started listing the names on the screen I saw Katy was first called. Then I realized holy crap, I was next. Katy won $750 free play, I won $500.

After the drawing I was back to the machines. I played more 10 play this time around. This was a little better with some quads and some aces. I cashed out with a $200 win.

It was now time for the 8pm drawing. Me and Katy weren't eligible and no one else in our group was called.

I went back to playing again and had another crappy session dropping 3 more bills on only 3k again. Very little of anything was coming up.

With enough play in for the night it was time to run my last installment of free play through as well as the $500 I won. I ran $600 through various video poker and turned it into $508 cash. The other $200 I ran through slots and the first hundred was really bad losing more than half of it. The second hundred was better when I hit a bonus for $75 turning all of the slot free play into $175.

All my play was done but oddly I was hungry so I stopped at the Promenade Cafe for some wings. They were good and did the trick and then I came up to the room.

I wrapped up the night in the room and watched TV for a while and then went to bed.
