Day 16
Saturday December 28, 2019
Today is the final day of the trip. Sad but true and it's not even a full day.

The plan today was to get some play at the D using the LVA coupon for $5 free play for every 50 points and the $25 match play. I also have a mailer for $75 free play and $100 in match play.

I got a late start and went over to the D. My first stop was to turn in my coupons and get my match plays. Next it was up to the Vue Bar to play the 8/5 bonus progressives. The royal had just been hit but the straight flush was at $250 and growing.

It was not a good session to start with with no quads and a quick $100 loss. I can't recall losing $100 so fast on single line quarters. A reload landed my first quad and a bunch of full houses. Another quad showed up quickly. Then the quad drought started again. It appeared to have been a quad drought all around with the standard quad progressive getting to over $50 before it was hit. I did hit a few bonus quads to keep alive. I was also dealt 4 to a royal 3 times but didn't pull the 4th card. Going back to the Aquarius I am up to 16 straight failures on 1 card royal flush draws.

I popped in a 3rd bill and continued to pound away. A few quads showed up along with a bunch of full houses again. The straight flush continued to grow but I didn't hit it. I decided to take a break to get something to eat down $175 and the still not hit straight flush now over $350.

For a late lunch/early dinner I went back over to Binion's to get a “Famous” Burger. I also got a roast beef sandwich to go to eat later on during the flight.

After eating I ran action on Dee's card at Binion's. Nothing much hitting at all. I was even on play and turned the $300 free play into $200 cash in a bloodbath with nothing better than 2 pair.

I returned to the D to find the Vue Bar packed and to see the straight flush had been hit. I still needed to do 5k in action and needed a quick way to do this because I was running out of time. I decided to take a shot downstairs by check in on $2 single line 8/5 bonus. I rarely play at this level because of the swings. It stared out really rough and I dropped 5 bills with nothing better than 2 pair as I was getting low paired to death.

I reloaded and immediately hit 2 quads in about 10 hands along with some full houses in the next few hands. I quickly went from being down 5 bills to being up 2 bills. I was plugging along when I was dealt RF4 and the 17th time was a charm as I filled it in for my first ever $2 royal for a sweet 8 grand.

I waited for the hand pay in the form of a check. While I was waiting I moved to the machine next to me and played for dollars to get the rest of my action in. During this time a friend Jim and his friend Rick stopped by. I had never met Jim in person before or so I thought. He said many years ago he met me at one of Yahtzee Mike's crapsfest meets at Main Street Station.

We all talked for a while and I got the rest of my action in. I cashed out of the dollar play with a $100 loss but an $8200 win on the $2 play.

My next stop was to the players club to have them add the $100 free play to my account.

I went to run it through half dollar single line and thanks to a bunch of full houses and flushes I turned the $175 free play into $172 cash.

I decided to save the match plays for my next trip in an effort to save some time and came back over to Binion's.

I took a break up in the room for a awhile and then the time came to get going. I grabbed my things and headed out.

The first thing I had to do was gas up the car and then make the return. All of that went well and I was on the shuttle heading to the airport.

Tonight's flight is with United and again I'm flying first class as part of the Seven Stars trip. Checking in went well and I was off to security.

Security was bullshit. They had a line for 1st class open for TSA clearance to get to security but no security line was open so I had to go to the regular line. This was a clusterfuck with the typical stupidity of people not following simple instruction. A total bunch of asshole losers doing nothing but slowing things down. I finally got through. I found my gate. I had plenty of time so I went to the United lounge and used a one time pass that I got with having the United credit card. This is like a diamond lounge with soup, salad and snacks available. I stayed in here until after boarding began and headed out.

I got right on and took my seat, 2A. This is a non stop flight scheduled to leave at 11:50pm and arrive in Newark at 7:23am with a flight time of 4 hours and 33 minutes. The captain actually came to each passenger in 1st class and introduced himself, gave a run down of how the flight was looking and said the flight would actually only take 4 hours and 5 minutes. I was originally supposed to be taking a flight home at noon and getting back to Newark at 8pm but United fucked that all up by changing not only the flights but the type of aircraft as well. I called them up and got switched to this red eye flight which got me almost a full extra day in town and a plane with the lie flat seats that are almost like beds. Thanks to their fuck up and the flight change, I have an extra $8000 in my pocket.

We pushed back right on time and we were in the air shortly after. There is no meal service even in first class on the red eye flight, just snacks. That was fine since I planned on sleeping as much as I could during the flight.

We landed on time and taxied to the gate for a while. I was one of the first off the plane again and made my way to baggage claim. As always it took forever because they just suck at this in Newark. Once my bag came out I was off to the air train and the Budget rental car lot.

I reserved a full size car with a Budget online discount and a coupon for $25 from a promo I registered for a while back. This brought the base down to $57 and all in for $88. To think about it I just had a week long rental in Vegas for a little bit more. Welcome to the NY/NJ area.

My car was in space 330, about as far from the building as possible. They assigned me a Toyota Camry. It was in beat to hell shape and had almost 30,000 miles on it. I gave the car a quick look, saw damage on the front end and hopped in for the 75 mile drive home. I reported the damage to the guard booth and it was noted on the contract. The ride was smooth considering it was a Sunday morning and there was very little traffic. I stopped at McDonald's in Paramus for a quick breakfast and then continued on my way.

I pulled into my driveway at 10:04am as another trip to Las Vegas came to a close (even though I'm still a registered guest at Binion's).
