Day 12
Wednesday March 4, 2020
Today is the last day of the trip and it's not even a full day. I have a red eye flight home later tonight but still have all day to play and have fun. During the day I was getting alerts that the flight was delayed due to the incoming flight departing Philadelphia late. No big deal, I'm glad to be able to know about it early these days. In the old days it would have meant sitting in the airport for an extra 2 hours.

I started off with a trip to the Pinball Hall of Fame. On the way for lunch I went to Jack in the Box. I had tacos and a junior bacon cheeseburger. It was paid for with the gift card I still have. Thanks for lunch Mike!

I came back to Rampart and met up with my host. He'd been off for the last few days. While we were talking I set up dates for the summer trip.

Next up I hit the machines. 10 play was the game and losing was the theme. Very little anything. Enough quads to keep going but that was about it. I dropped close to a grand on less than 15k in action.

For dinner I went to Spiedini. This place isn't quite the same as it was when it was independently owned (it's now owned by the casino). That doesn't mean it's bad. It's just a little different. I had the beef carpaccio for an appetizer and the veal Marsala as my entree. Everything was good and I was filled up.

It was starting to get late so I wrapped up everything in the casino. The first thing I did was run the $75 free play I had from the online game. $50 of it was from the weekly game and $25 was for placing 13th place in their Froggy Game. While at the players club I cashed in some of my points and got $500 in cash for those.

I ran the free play through dollar single line and didn't hit much of anything other than jacks. I turned the $75 into $60 cash.

With that done I came up to the room to pack up the final things, got cleaned up and headed out.

I left Rampart and made a quick stop at M to collect Dee's $75 free play. Thanks to a full house and a straight I cashed out at $100 even.

Next up was to gas up the car and take it back to the facility.

Returning the car went well with no issues and I was on the shuttle back to the airport.

My flight home is on American Airlines but I won't be going back into Newark, instead I'll be going back to my local airport, Stewart – Newburgh. I got a really good fare of just $117 one way which is really low for this airport which tends to be pricey. Checking in was quick with only 3 people ahead of me. It still amazes me how long it takes people to check in at the airport and at hotels when I can do it in under 3 minutes most of the time.

Next up was the hell known as security. This was an effing disaster. They had 1 TSA agent checking boarding passes and 1 line open for security. Never in my life have I ever seen such a large airport with only 1 security line open. It was a total cluster fuck. Finally they opened another line and it helped but people still don't get it after all of these years. They are told no liquids and make sure their pockets are empty, yet there are always the ass clowns that try to smuggle beverages or don't empty their pockets. The ass munch in front of me had his cell phone and blue tooth on him when he got scanned. Dude, WTF???

I grabbed a sandwich for the flight at Port of Subs. Quite a rip off but we are in the airport so I expect it. I should have gotten a sandwich at the deli in Rampart but I had just eaten and wasn't thinking about food.

I got to the gate area and waited for boarding to begin. More misbehaved people but eventually we all got on.

This is flight 573 non stop to Philly. It's scheduled to depart at 10:50pm and arrive at 6:08am with a flight time of 4 hours and 18 minutes. It wasn't going to depart until 12:19am and even when we were boarding I was getting continual alerts on the AA app, that it was later, then earlier. I probably got 30 alerts through the evening. An announcement was made that it would take 3:50. Under 4 hours is pretty impressive.

I passed the time on this flight sleeping most of the way back to Philly and playing games on my phone. We landed at 7:06am locally.

We arrived into Terminal A and I had to take the shuttle bus over to Terminal F where the small puddle jumpers take off from. I had plenty of time during my layover which was originally supposed to be almost 3 ½ hours. With the change it's now less than 1 hour. I grabbed a Cheese Steak at Tony Luke's. This would be dinner tonight!

It was now time to start boarding for the flight home. This is flight 4835 to Stewart – Newburgh. It's scheduled to leave at 8:51am and arrive in Newburgh at 10:15am with a flight time of 1 hour and 24 minutes. It never takes this long to get back up there and it was announced that the flight would only take 38 minutes. The flight was uneventful.

The luggage came out surprisingly fast and I was on my way to to the plant where I work to get the car and head home.

On the way home I made a few stops to get some food and to pick up my mail and then headed home.

I pulled into the driveway around 11:15am as another trip to Las Vegas came to a close (even though I'm still a registered guest at Rampart).
