Day 17

I slept in today and took a while to get motivated. I finally got ready and headed out.

For lunch I met my friend Gary at Earl Grey Cafe. I got the braised short rib special. It came with mashed potatoes and carrots. A bit dry but pretty good other than that. I would get it again. After lunch we hung out for a while in the casino and then Gary left. As always we had a great time.

Next up I met up with my friend Jim and we played some video poker together. For me it wasn't a bad session. Fair amount of quads and dealt winners. I was hovering for the most part but then went through a pocket of just plain junk. I was actually down to my last few bets when a dealt full house and some other good hits got me all of the way back up to even. When we took a break for dinner I was down less than $200 on almost 9k in action.

For dinner we went to Earl Grey Cafe. I tried the prime rib 3 course special with chicken noodle soup and apple cobbler. The prime rib was really good tonight and a good deal. Jim covered the meal with his comps. Thanks for dinner Jim!

After dinner I played some penny games and got beat up a little bit before switching to video poker. This time around things were pretty good. I was hovering for the most part and getting enough premium hands to keep alive. I went through a few dry spells but would come back. I had a good run for a while getting my meter over $1000 after I had a bunch of dealt straights, flushes and full houses in about a 20 hand span. A few sets of aces and other quads helped the run. Things stopped there and I was bleeding again and actually went back down into the $500's. Another run of dealt winners got me back up and I decided to quit for the day with a win of just over $200.

If it weren't for the slots I would have won a few bucks today but all in all it was a good day.

I finished up the night with some packing, TV and bed.
