At GH
[AJ kind of pulls Carly (gently) by the arm taking and they both stand by the nurses station.]
Carly: AJ, how do you know I
was in the park with Lorraine yesterday? Were you spying on me?
AJ: Lorranie?
Carly: Yea.
AJ: Funny, I only know her as
the nurse from Mercy that was there when we got our sonogram.
Carly: Yea. She is the nurse
from Mercy. I ran into her at the park and recognized her, same as you did. She
told me her name was Lorraine Miller and we chatted for a little while, that’s
all.
AJ: It was more than that. You
two weren’t acting like two people who hardly know each other.
Carly: Have you ever heard of
female bonding? No I’m serious, two women who have never laid eyes on each
other can sit together on a park bench, and in 15 mins they know each others
life story.
AJ: Do not insult me Carly.
Carly: Okay. It wasn’t an accident. We arranged to meet.

Carly: After the sonogram, that
day at Mercy, you know you just left me there, and I must of looked kinda
pathetic because Lorraine saw me sitting alone, and she came over and sat down
with me. You gotta understand what it looked like, ya know, a husband leaving
his pregnant wife after they just saw their baby for the first time.
AJ: You must of just lapped up
all that sympathy.
Carly: Well I couldn’t tell
her the truth now, could I?
AJ: No, no far be it for you to
tell the truth.
Carly: God did I do this to you? Did I make you this cynical?
AJ: Oh now don’t take all the
credit. Now come on, come on, lets get back to how you and Nurse Lorraine became
best friends.
Carly: We’re not best
friends! But god knows I was desperate for a friend, I don’t have any left.
AJ: What about Tony?
Carly: Tony is my lover! My
husband hopefully, but its not fair for me to center my entire existence around
him, ya know, I need other people in my life.
AJ: Well maybe they were
smarter than I am, and realized that you’re dangerous to be friends with.
Carly: Ouch. You’re in rare
form today. Ya know AJ I was nearly over the edge when I did that-
AJ: Oh please. Please, please
stop! No matter how thick you lay it on, I’m never gonna understand what you
did.
Carly: Well I don’t either.
Did you follow me to the park?
AJ(guilty) : Yes. I was curious what you were up to and you seem to uh be more worked up after your fight with Bobbie and you ran out and I was uh, uh, worried about you.

[Carly and AJ walk over the
little couch on the side of the nurses station.]
AJ: See Carly, you’ve been
more emotional than usual.
Carly: Read off the walls.
AJ: Bobbie, she pushes your
buttons, the way you push hers. I just wanted to make sure-
Carly: What? I didn’t jump
off a bridge?
AJ: Something like that
Carly: What do you care?
AJ: Yes. Of course I care! You
have a life inside of you, and I know that it would kill Tony to lose another
child. The same principal as not telling Tony that we slept together, or making
my mother swear to not tell my family what you did. Cause it would only end up
hurting Tony and the baby.
Carly: So I understand, this is
all about Tony and the baby?
AJ: [Looks away] That’s
right.
[Bobbie appears in the
backround right as Carly starts talking]
Carly: AJ, did you ever make a
mistake? Did you ever do anything wrong?-
AJ: [Inturrupting] Yes! Of
course! I’m human. But I take responsibility for what I do.
Carly: And I don’t? Come on,
I admitted everything I did to hurt you.
AJ: What choice did you have?
Carly: I apologized AJ, you can
say its only cause I had to, but the truth is, I was hurting and I was sorry,
all along in my heart. But you have no idea what a punishment your anger is to
me, not that I don’t deserve every bit of it, I do. But you won’t even give
me the slightest leeway to make amends to find forgiveness-
[Tony walks up to where they
are sitting.]
Tony: Hi AJ, I need to steal
Carly away from you for just a minute. [Carly stands up and takes Tony’s
hand.]
Carly (to AJ): Don’t go away
just yet okay?
AJ: Okay.
A Bobbie & AJ scene takes
place here.

AJ: Trying to keep something
from. (sorry didn’t get this first part)
Carly: Everyone but you AJ! And
why? Wouldn’t I expect Bobbie to trash me every chance she gets, she always
does. Ya know your so suspicious already that its just-
AJ: Alright, alright, truce. I
won’t come at you anymore with questions and sucpicions. Go love Tony, have a
baby, live happily ever after, just don’t expect anymore from me.
Carly: Thanks. That’s more
than I expected.
[After this scene AJ calls the head of OB at Mercy, he is wants to get a hold of the sonogram. The REAL one!]
