THE KING OF... GENOA CITY?

After eight-plus hours of taping daytime drama, a trio of The Young and the Restless cast members - Peter Bergman, Melody Thomas Scott and Scott Reeves - switched gears to nighttime comedy, when they were tapped to guest star on The King of Queens. (The episode, slated to air Feb. 26, featured Kevin James' Doug falling asleep in front of his TV and dreaming he was a part of Genoa City.) Shooting for this special episode took place in the late evening hours on Y&R's Crimson Lights set.

Melody shared a scene with comedian/actor Jerry Stiller (Arthur). "It was an honour to work with him. Contrary to how he is now being referred to [as comic actor Ben Stiller's father], I still think of him as the great Jerry Stiller," noted Melody, who traded funny faces with the legendary comic during rehearsal. "He was very cute. He said, 'You do comedy, don't you?' I said, 'Not on my show, I don't! But you should see our rehearsals.' "
