THE LURE OF LIPSTICK

Melody Thomas Scott didn't wear lipstick until she was in her early 20s. "I was a real hippie. It took me a long time for me to even understand what makeup was," she says. Today, Scott wears lipsticks by Lorac, Nars, Trish McEvoy (No. 91, to be specific); most of her lipsticks, however, are Chanel. "There are so many pretty colours. What I usually do is put [Chanel Hydra-soleil in gold] over any other colour that I'm wearing. And they look good when you pull them out of your purse," she adds, referring to the black case adorned with Chanel's logo of intertwining C's.
