How Does A Thing Measure Up?

Making decisions is hard, very hard, at times. Especially when we are at a crossroads.

You know the Witchen Kitchen possess an item that can help you, or rather, access, your own true desires and help you in a decision.

Take that measuring cup...yes, that one. Take it!

Think of your decision, your question, while you are holding that cup. Now, run the tap water and place the cup under it and fill it as much as you want...not to the top though...just hold it under the water and let the cup catch some of it. Look at the measurement...if it is less than half full it is considered that the issue, question or subject is against you and opposes you. It the cup is more than half full, then it is considered that the subject at hand, or your decision made or your alternative, is for your good.

Another method is to run the tap water in your kitchen sink and stop it up when you have enough water accumulated to dip the measuring cup in it. Add a pinch of salt and ask your question or think of your issue...now run the cup under the water and bring it up...if the cup is full, drain it and stop whenever you want. Measure the water left...if less than half then the answer is considered "negative", if more than half full, it is considered "positive".

Oats for Life

In the month of March honor the goddess Eostre with eating oats each day for 9 consecutive days. Begin at New Moon and end by Full Moon.

Not only is oats good for you, they cleanse the system and prepare your body and aura for the bounty of the goddess. Especially good for women attempting to conceive.

You can eat oatmeal, oatmeal cookies or snack. Once a day, for nine consecutive days.

When the time period is over, take an egg and boil it until it hardens. Set aside to cool. Gently dig a little hole in the shell and scoop out some of the insides...and pour inside some raw oats. Restuff back with the egg shell and bury somewhere on your property or drop in moving water. This is a magick for women only, who wish to conceive and carry a baby to full term.

Tra-La-La and Nougat Too!

Yule and Nougat...in our home known as Turron! Ahhhh.....what Magick!

Turron is a traditional Yule/Christmas food which was brought to Spain in the 8th century, during that nation's conquest by the Moors. It is believed the Turron originated in Asia in honor to the goddess Baalat and was in existence a full 1,000 years before the advent of Christ! Each town in Spain has a specialty of turron, my absolute favorite being nougat (turron) made from honey, eggs and hazelnuts!

This delicious confection made of honey and nuts is a must taste...and warning, it will bewitch you!

In my family we have nougat wishes since the ingredient of the nougat is honey and nuts, traditionally ingredients known for their healing, protective and loving qualities.

Small pieces of the turron, or nougat, is placed at the dinner table as a dessert. Or a large slab of turron/nougat, is placed in slices on a handsome serving dish. Each person makes a wish silently and eats their nougat. Thanks is given all around afterward for the bounty of the dinner.

There are many types of nougats which we match each year to whatever the Kitchen Witch wishes to do:

There are:

* Chocolate Turrones *Turron in singular) - for sex, passion and vision;
* Peanut Turrones - for protection. *Careful, those of you allergic to peanuts!*
* Honey and Almond Turrones - called Alicante (very hard) and Jijona (very soft) - for prosperity;
* Turron de Yema (made of eggs and honey) - for love.

In short, nougats for every desire and wish. They reflect the holiday season and are a wonderful new magick for the Witchen Kitchen.

Turrones are usually found in the Spanish markets or specialty markets. They are brought out sometime in late October or early November and by December they should be in full notice.

Note: Unable to locate turrones but still wish to use the magick of the nougat?

Serve almonds, sweet nougat candies, or even taffy, individually wrapped or in a large dish and have each person select one, make a wish and eat the item.
