Day 8

I got up today and realized, it's over. These 7 night trips go by so fast when you're used to being here for 20-30. I got myself ready and it was time to head out.

The first stop was to the bank. No walk of shame here!

Next stop was to fill up the gas tank of the rental car. I didn't do much driving this trip so it didn't take that much.

I got to the rental car facility to drop the car. This went well. No surprises and was done in a timely manner.

I jumped onto the shuttle bus back to the airport and in a few minutes was at Terminal 3.

I didn't have to check any luggage so went right to security. Typical crap here. The biggest issue is they send too many people from the main line to the first class line at once. I get using it to speed things up but just not so many people. I finally got through and hopped on the monorail to D terminal. I found my gate and waited for boarding to begin.

I didn't have much time to spare but like a true degenerate played a few slots before I boarded. I can say I'm one of the few that wins here. I took about $40 and my flight was boarding.

When boarding began I was able to get on before the masses and took my seat 1A. This is flight 2498 non stop back to Newark. Our scheduled departure time is 1:45pm with a 4 hour and 42 minute flight time scheduled to get us in at 9:27pm. The standard announcement was made letting us know it would only take 4:15.

The flight was standard and the meal was weak consisting of a snack box. They've really dumbed down flying first class so much and of course blame COVID for everything. As usual I watched TV, played games and slept on the way home.

We landed at 8:59pm which was 28 minutes earlier than expected. I was one of the first off the plane once the doors opened and it was nice not having to go to baggage claim here in Newark which is always a cluster eff. Instead I went right to the monorail and back to the parking garage where my car was waiting for me. I hopped in and started the 70 mile or so drive home.

Like I usually do I stopped at McDonald's on the way home and wished it was Jack in the Box!

The ride was uneventful for 10-11pm. I pulled into my driveway at 10:45 pm as another trip to Las Vegas came to an end.

Final Thoughts

• Airfares were really cheap this trip even in first class
• Rental car rates were high this trip
• It felt strange actually driving to and parking MY car in Newark
• I really like The Venetian and hope they continue to send offers
• I can't believe I spent the entire trip staying on the Strip
• I also remembered why I don't spend more time on the Strip
• It was nice to have a more relaxing trip with less play than normal
• It was exciting hitting a dollar royal
• Things continue to be slow due to COVID-19
• The casinos aren't helping themselves by closing so many venues
• The swings were pretty smooth this trip
• I played 203,000 hands of video poker this trip
• I hit 6 royals this trip (3 @ 1¢, 2 @ 25¢, 1 @ $1)
• I never played so little video poker before
• The weather was quite nice near 75 degrees the first few days
• This win/loss bring my Las Vegas record to 40 – 23 – 1
• The next trip will be the annual summer trip in June and July

• Eff you to people the still need to be told to wear a mask
• Eff you to the captain on the flight out that screamed over the PA
• Eff you to the lady at 99¢ Only that bickered over $1 for 10 minutes
• Eff you to people that can't look up from their phones when walking
• Eff you to people that try to get into the elevator before you get out
• Eff you to the D's ticket redemption machine that spit out 10 pennies when I cashed a ticket for $53.10
• Eff you to United for serving snack boxes in first class

• Eff you to Four Queens for having the parking garage elevator out of order (for like 4 months now)
